📍 0.5 miles from St. James' Park
The Forth is a short walk from Newcastle Central Station and sits on the common walking route to St James’ Park, making it a convenient pre-match stop. It screens live football via Sky Sports and TNT Sports, so you can catch early kick-offs before heading up to the ground. Crystal Palace’s fan travel guide also flags The Forth (on Pink Lane by the station) as a fan-friendly option for visiting supporters, while wider away-day advice notes Newcastle pubs are generally welcoming if behaviour is good. Altogether, it’s a handy, neutral city-centre base to meet, watch the build-up, and walk to the stadium on matchdays.
Really big, airy, laid back pub. Nice variety of beers on tap and a pretty big and varied menu. Definitely would recommend the harissa and aubergine 🍆 pizza 🍕. Really nice friendly service and a very good rooftop terrace too 😀 👌
I popped in with friends recently. It was very busy however the bar staff are fantastic. They served quickly, apologised (unnecessarily) that there was a few cuppas to be made before me and even though there was alot of people there, they were bright and friendly. The atmosphere was great, the music was the perfect level where I could hear it (brilliant choices btw) and still comfortably chat and hear everyone. I will absolutely be back X
Booked for a friend’s birthday but waited 40 mins for food, which only arrived after we chased it. My fish and chips were warm (not hot) with soggy batter that was hard to cut (photo attached), and both friends’ meals were cold and sent back. As we were heading to another venue and had already waited long enough, I didn’t send mine back. No apology, no check-in, and overpriced for the quality. Lovely pub, but I won’t be eating here again.
Had our work’s Christmas party here for the second time as usual it was great. food was lovely. We Had the room at the back which was just the right size for our party. It was Great that we got to keep the room all night and not just for a few hours. Had a great time.
Tasty burger for £11 (Christmas offer) although not sure I'd pay the menu price of £20. Plum porter is a favourite beer of mine, and 20% off on Tuesdays is a bonus...
