City-centre Northern Quarter pub that actively shows big football tournaments — they advertised screenings and bookings for UEFA Euro 2024 — making it a neutral spot for matchdays. They also ran pre-match offers (e.g., happy hour before weekday games and a free Camden pint after the final whistle), which suits fans meeting before or settling in to watch. Being central with late weekend opening (to 2am Fri/Sat) helps for evening kick-offs or post-match drinks. Food is served daily from midday, so you can grab proper pub grub before the game or during half-time.
We recently visited The Bay Horse Tavern for their bottomless brunch, and it was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. A massive shout-out to Nathan and the short-haired lady whose name I unfortunately can’t remember – the service from both of them was unbelievable. Friendly, attentive, and always making sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. They genuinely made the experience and are a real credit to the pub. I honestly can’t compliment your staff enough. The drinks kept flowing, the food was great, and the atmosphere in the Northern Quarter was exactly what you want for a weekend brunch. The only tiny complaint I have is that bottomless hash browns should be delivered the moment you sit down! If there was a way to have an endless supply of crispy hash browns from arrival to departure, I’d be there every weekend. All jokes aside, it was a brilliant experience, and we’ll definitely be back. Thanks again to Nathan and his colleague for making it such a memorable afternoon.
Had fish and chips platter with peas and curry, with tartar sauce, and diet coke. After had a cappuccino. Good portion on plate, tasted good enough. The peas a little cold. But not worth sending back. Overall a good meal in a clean and tidy place. Downside I think the price for what is a limited menu is expensive £18 for the food, then drinks on top. That being said they had a special offer of half price on meals Monday to Friday throughout January. So that balances out the regular cost. Atmosphere is pleasant enough and staff where friendly. As for access parking is on street only and limited. Disabled access whilst I didn't ask about other entrys the doors I used had a few steps. Overall a decent place to grab a meal and drink, while offering a discounted menu,
Headed to Bay Horse Tavern for a celebratory Sunday lunch meal, there was 6 of us and we were seated downstairs. What hit us all straight away was the smell of the food! The Sunday menu is small but it all smelt incredible and it made choosing so difficult! Many of us chose the fish, which was 10/10 both in flavour and portion size, and the rest chose the roast, which also got rave reviews. I was told it was the best gravy they’ve had in a long time! The downstairs area was small and had a nice cosy atmosphere - very different to the upstairs - and the staff were lovely. We had a lovely server called Luke (I think!) who was an absolute gem. Generally I think places like this get a little overlooked, because they’re so central, but BHT was great and would definitely consider going for food again!
I went here with my partner recently and had a lovely meal. I had the steak pie with chips and my boyfriend had the fish and chips. The pastry was very nice - not too thick or thin. A proper pie too with pastry on the bottom! The filling was a bit too salty for my liking but still very tasty. The fish and chips are always stellar. My partner said that the batter on the fish was very nice. The portion seemed very generous too. Our meals came with tartare sauce, curry sauce, gravy and mushy peas! Felt spoilt for choice. It's one of our favourite spots for sure.
Personally this was a little find just when it was needed. Got a little alcove of a seating area with my company and ordered food and drinks. I think the photos say it all however if they don't appeal then I suggest you go in and try out their great menu. I haven't recommended any of the dishes as this is a personal choice.
