📍 0.5 miles from Anfield
On matchdays the New Halfway House is a lively stop close to the Liverpool grounds. Liverpool FC’s own site recalls the pub on Walton Road “rocking” after a Saturday evening kick-off, highlighting its role in modern LFC fan culture. Reviews also describe it as a good pre- or post-match spot within walking distance of the ground, with one Bournemouth supporter saying he felt welcome even as the pub filled with Everton fans—evidence it draws a mixed crowd on derby or visiting-team days. With TNT Sports listed among its facilities, it’s set up for early/late televised fixtures too. All told, it’s a practical, football-savvy choice for away-day fans who want atmosphere, TVs for the build-up, and a base near Anfield/Goodison routes.
Great friendly service and tribute to Jota. Parking difficult. 10 min walk from anfield stadium
Such a nice pub. I definitely recommend it. Especially for the Liverpool football fans.
Went in for a pint after a game at Anfield. Friendly staff, lots of space with an open plan layout. Lots of interesting old black and photos of the area on the walls, lots of LFC paraphernalia on the walls, and a great sounding young chap playing / singing LFC songs on the acoustic guitar. There's also a courtyard out the back. Will happily return here.
What a great day to celebrate the Brian Epstein blue plaque placed on the corner of Walton Road / Royal St Liverpool with The Merzees Beatles Tribute Duo who gave the day for the community project Alison a great host for The New Halfway House who supplied the buffet thanks to all involved and everyone had a great day for the final day of Beatles Weekend from Gordon Thanks To All
FrIendly local boozer. Loyalties are with LFC.. Very smal range of anything but session lager on tap. Definititely not for CAMRA members
