📍 0.6 miles from Anfield
A handy pre-match option about a 10-minute walk from Anfield, described as a quieter pint than pubs right by the ground. The pub shows TNT Sports, so you can catch live football before/after the game, and there’s a food menu for a bite on matchdays. Reviews note both Liverpool and Everton memorabilia inside, suggesting a mixed crowd rather than home-only.
The Mere Bank is a lovely spot in Liverpool that perfectly balances laid-back vibes with a welcoming, cozy atmosphere . I stopped in for a couple of pints on the way to a concert and ended up staying longer than planned—it's that kind of place . The pub itself is charming, with intricately detailed exterior and original interior decorations that add a nice touch of history to your visit . There are plenty of comfortable seating options, and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly . I was particularly impressed by the homemade food mentioned in several reviews—it's clear they put care into their kitchen offerings . The drink selection is excellent too, with a wide range of beers, wines, and creative cocktails to choose from . They also have live music and sports screenings occasionally, which adds to the vibrant energy . Whether you're meeting up with friends or just want a relaxed evening, The Mere Bank is well worth a visit. It's also wheelchair accessible, which is a thoughtful touch .
We went to the Mere Bank this past Saturday before the Legends match. This is the pub my buddy, Steve, goes to before each Liverpool match. I really enjoyed the pub. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was excellent. Great beer. Really enjoyed my visit prior to going to see our Liverpool Legends win 4-2 vs Ajax.
We had a cheeky drink before the concert. This pub is on one of the taxi routes to Anfield, and the roads here are hectic. It was a Saturday evening, and the Boss was in town... the traffic was rammed. So, we got out by the pub and had a drink before walking on. The pub is a little gem. It's a pub, nothing special, you order, you get a drink. It was lively, and the owners had misjudged the staffing... I totally missed the fact that Bruce Springsteen was in town 😳 Needless to say, there was pension at the bar. But, it was handled well, and I have to thank the bar lady who stayed on to help out after her shift had ended. Respect! The pub itself, though, is an antique. We went outside as it was a nice evening. I couldn't help notice the intricate detail on the external building. This is an old pub, and a lot of the original decoration remains. I'm not sure all pub goers would notice or care, but this bub was built by craftsmanship, which is lost in this day and age. Liverpool has some architectural gems, and I shall have to return.
Great pub. As a brighton and Hove albion supporter, they let us in the pub after the Liverpool v brighton game and had a great time with the locals chatting about football.
Me and my mate went for a drink there proper sound cozy pub with great atmosphere be going there again
