A solid Crystal Palace matchday base in the Triangle: the pub explicitly shows “all major sporting events” with 9 TVs, so you can watch early kick-offs or stay for post-game action. It’s food-led, with breakfast, brunch and Sunday roasts useful for lining up before heading on, and it opens from breakfast time on weekends (and weekdays per prior refurb note). It’s a known Palace gathering point—BBC London filmed celebrations spilling out onto Westow Hill by the Sparrowhawk after a big Palace win—so expect home-fan atmosphere. It’s also a short walk from Gipsy Hill station and well served by buses, making it straightforward to reach and depart on matchdays.
Evening food is great. Menu changes, what comes out the kitchen is always great. Nice local atmosphere. Welcoming. Great selection of beers.
Don't let the old reviews determine your visit. We booked a table for 8 on mothers day and the communication was really good. We all had Sunday roasts that were delicious and very generous portions. Good section of puds and the atmosphere was lovely and very family friendly. All the staff I spoke to were really nice and I can't wait to go back for more grub!
Great Place to watch live Football as they have lots of screens, the only downside is lots of Chelsea fans in crystal palace area 😉☺️😁
Genuinely one of the best Sunday roasts I’ve ever had. Beef was cooked to perfection and proper crispy golden potatoes, plenty of fresh beans and roasted carrots and parsnips. Sam Jackson the chef takes so much pride in his work and it shows. First time visiting but we were made feel really welcome by all the lovely staff. Dog friendly as well. 10/10 highly recommend.
Wow! The Sparrowhawk is under new management and they've absolutely nailed it! We went for the roast dinner and were incredibly impressed. The pork belly was cooked to perfection – crispy crackling and melt-in-your-mouth meat. The roast potatoes were golden and crunchy, and the gravy was clearly made with love. Even the fresh greens were beautifully cooked, and the Yorkshire pudding was perfect. And I can't forget the cauliflower cheese – creamy, cheesy, and utterly delicious. The pub itself has a lovely, cosy atmosphere, and the service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend, and well done to The Sparrowhawk!
