📍 0.5 miles from Stamford Bridge
The Mitre is a short stroll from Fulham Broadway and Stamford Bridge, making it a convenient pre- or post-match pub for Chelsea fixtures. Sources note large screens indoors and in the garden and that the venue screens major sport, creating a matchday atmosphere. It’s also specifically flagged as popular on Chelsea match days, indicating a strong home-fan presence. Together, the proximity to the ground and multiple big screens mean fans can gather before heading to the stadium or watch televised games at the pub.
Wonderful experience at Mitre. W went on Monday night. Arriving before 7, the restaurant was very quiet, pretty romantic atmosphere. Way more animated when we left by 8:45 but still amazing atmosphere. The food was amazing. It was pie week, so we ordered one (we asked for oxtail but get chicken instead but anyway it was amazing. Very juicy, well cooked, perfectly balanced with the leek, tarragon and kale. Came with purée and gravy). The pie menu included beverage. We also shared a wonderful chicory and pear salad (great mix) and a burger (really good meet and cheese, but we would have liked more vegetables in it for freshness and harmony). For beverages they offer many non alcoholic options (6 differents bottle beers including German style wheat beer, lager beer, stout beer and sour) unalcoholic mojito (which was excellen), unalcoholic Spirits and different softs (large option of Fever tree tonics and ginger beer) as well as alcoholic drinks like tape beer, bottles, wines, spirits, cocktails etc... For dessert we shared the apple and blueberries crumble. The mix of fruits was amazing, almost tasted like hot wine. Apple super well cocked so they're sweet, caramelized and soft. We combined with black tea (came with milk, as we like). The place is really warm (both literally and figuratively), service is good, music is nice and not too loud. We would definitely like to come again
🚇 Fulham Broadway 🍺 £6.80 Amstel The Mitre is located in the heart of Fulham, not too far from Chelsea FC. The nearest Tube is Fulham Broadway. This pub was built in 1861, when much of the area was being developed. The current building was rebuilt in 1924 by the Swan Brewery in the Brewers’ Tudor style, or Mock Tudor as it’s more commonly known. The Swan brewery was located nearby and closed in 1928; the Fulham Court housing estate now occupies its former site. This is a good-sized, one-bar pub with a traditional feel and contemporary touches. The bar area has three distinct spaces: a cosy snug with a log burner at the front, a dining area in the middle, and a spacious conservatory at the back. The servery is accessible from all three sections. The pub also boasts a large beer garden, which is partially covered and heated. The decor consists of boarded flooring with tiling around the servery, traditional tables and chairs in the dining area, and more contemporary seating in the conservatory. Dark grey walls are adorned with artworks and prints, and there are beautiful leaded windows. The beer selection offers a mix of familiar favourites and cask ales. I opted for an Amstel — my pint was great, price point was above average. The food menu features gastropub classics: fish and chips costs £21.50, and roasts take centre stage on Sundays. I arrived at 6pm on a wet Wednesday evening in February. The pub was fairly busy with a local crowd, and quite a few people were in the covered beer garden. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed, with a convivial feel set to an excellent soundtrack. The service was welcoming and friendly. The pub hosts a Quiz on Tuesdays and shows Six Nations Rugby. Visiting this independent pub was a great experience. Its historic ties to the Swan Brewery, distinctive architecture, and relaxed, welcoming atmosphere make it easy to settle in, while the beer garden is a real bonus. With a solid beer selection and highly praised food, it’s well worth a visit if you’re in the area. 📅 11th February 2026
So good, nice and cozy. Traditional English food. We will Definitely go back.
Clean area, friendly staff, decent p prices, good food. Overall, our experience was great. Had nachos for a quick bite as well as a Guiness on tap. I recommend this place for a quick bite to eat.
We were disappointed with our recent visit. On arrival we waited around 15 minutes before being acknowledged and seated. Despite having a booking, our table was not ready which resulted in even more waiting time. The staff were friendly and polite throughout, however it was clear that they were understaffed for the number of large bookings. Unfortunately, the portion size of the steak and chips was also very small considering the price charged. Overall, while the staff did their best, the service and value for money did not meet expectations.
