📍 2.0 miles from Stamford Bridge
Opposite Shepherd’s Bush Central line station, The Central Bar (Wetherspoon) is convenient for fans arriving by tube. QPR fan guides describe a good mix of home and away supporters here on matchdays, and the pub adapts operations on QPR home dates (alcohol service may start later and drinks can be served in plastic), showing it’s regularly used pre-/post-match. Food runs from breakfast with the main menu into the evening, helpful for early kick-offs and post-game meals. The pub has TV screens and has promoted live coverage during Wetherspoon’s ‘Summer of Sport’, so you can catch other matches before or after. Altogether, it’s a practical Shepherd’s Bush base for matchdays.
That Big Smoke burger was DELICIOUS 😋. If you live in Shepherd's Bush or on holiday and spent too much in Westfield then pop over to The Central Bar opposite the station in West12 shopping centre. The views are amazing so if you like to be nosy and also look down at people rushing around, bumping into one another on the busy crossing as cars and busses hoot at them... Cars stopping right in the middle then getting swamped by pedestrians... This place has atmosphere and entertainment lol. The views from the huge windows are amazing, today was a nippy February day but I bet it is brill in the rain. Window seats are not easy to get lol! Anyway you want to know about the food, drinks, and service, ALL five star. We were here at 14:45 and it was busy not rammed but all the window seats were taken and we dashed to one JUST before ordering our burgers. The food was hot and arrived in good time, the tea and coffee machine produced reasonably good coffee... Not Yorkshire tea but Twinings will do. Over all, far exceeded the usual spoons experience and excellent prices. £21 all together and we were at Mackie Deez yesterday and spent more got less! The staff were all lovely and here is a bit of randomness, A pigeon flew in from the shopping centre... As Drinking and flying is probably not wise, I scooped him up and let him out before security banned him 😂 EDIT back again three weeks later still brill! Didn't manage to get a window seat this time but table 79 is well positioned for views and not a main thoroughfare for table seekers. We sat down at 15:15 and stayed till 16:00. A Little busier and louder than last time but not unbearable or I would have left 😁
honestly not bad at all?! i had low expectations due to the reviews and amount of flack wetherspoons gets for their food BUT it was actually pretty decent. my boyfriend had a full english breakfast for the first time ever and said it was a solid 7/10. i opted for the small maple pancakes, 2 scrambled eggs and 2 slices of bacon on the side and honestly the pancakes were really really good!! i love a sweet treat at breakfast time so i saved them for last (iykyk) and they slapped so good. there was a weird smell when we walked into the place, im not sure what it was..maybe urine? but it quickly diminished or we just got used to it. atmosphere is just like any other spoons, the servers were lovely so thank you!
Didn’t opt for the breakfast at my hotel (Hilton Kensington) so took a 5 min walk here instead for a morning bite and a coffee. It’s right across from the Shepherds Bush Station on the second floor of a shopping centre. Great prices for a simple breakfast and coffee. An English pub setting. Clean, friendly and quiet on Wednesday morning. Very glad I found this place.
To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally complain about the unacceptable and deeply disrespectful behavior of one of your security guards during my recent visit. I was asked to provide identification for age verification, and I fully cooperated. I showed my valid UniDays account and also provided additional proof, including my bank card and my Boots card, which clearly supported my identity and confirmed that I am over the required age. Despite this, the security guard behaved in an extremely rude and humiliating manner. Instead of handling the situation professionally, he made personal and insulting comments about my appearance. He stated that I “look like a child,” which was already inappropriate and disrespectful. What made the situation even worse was when he suggested that I might be “my friend’s daughter,” implying that I looked so young that I could not possibly be taken seriously as an adult customer. This comment was completely unacceptable, humiliating, and unnecessary. It embarrassed both me and my friend and made the entire interaction extremely uncomfortable. There is absolutely no reason for a security guard to make sarcastic or mocking personal remarks while carrying out a simple age verification check. I understand and respect the need for age verification policies, but there is a major difference between doing a job professionally and deliberately humiliating customers. The behavior of this security guard crossed the line and reflected very poorly on your establishment. I left feeling angry, embarrassed, and shocked by the way I was treated. No customer should ever be spoken to in such a degrading and unprofessional way. I expect this complaint to be taken seriously and properly investigated. I would also expect: * A formal apology for the disrespectful treatment. * A review of the security guard’s conduct and professionalism. * Assurance that other customers will not experience similar humiliation in the future. I hope appropriate action will be taken regarding this matter.
Massive Wetherspoons on Shepherds Bush green, opposite Westfield's. Large windows overlooking the busy roads and letting in plenty of light. Not the prettiest of pubs but run with the usual professionalism by the Wetherspoons staff.
