About this Pub

The Coal Yard

Why it's great for Matchdays

In Burnley town centre, The Coal Yard is set up for matchdays with many TVs throughout the venue, including booths with their own screens, so fans won't miss any action. Posts regularly promote live football on the big screens, including multiple matches on the same day. This makes it a practical pre- or post-match spot for watching televised fixtures or catching early/late kick-offs in town before heading to Turf Moor.

Argyle on tour!! After 9hrs on a train the sight of our first pub on arrival was very welcome. Vast and empty the barmaid was excellent but sadly no real ales !! I'm sure it gets busier.....on to the next....

It used to be ok before COVID. But now there is no atmosphere and they are charging Β£5 for a koppaberg strawberry and lime. Toilets and sinks are in need of work. Don't think I'll bother going again.

Absolutely disgusting when your a regular and you get kicked off a table you are sat at. On a Thursday night The Coal Yard have a quiz, which we are aware of as times we have been in previously and there was reserved sign on certain tables but you was allowed to sit on them until the quiz starts, which is totally understandable as the reserved signs was on the tables before we went in. BUT and here is the BUT, when you go into your local and there are no reserved signs on the tables and when you are enjoying your evening a member of staff comes and puts a reserved sign on your table and says you will have to move when the quiz starts. This is disgraceful action, what has happened to the old saying "first come first served". When you spend a lot of money at several pubs this company owns , this is disgusting. The owners of this company really need to take a look on how they run their pubs. Not Happy, finishing our drink and going somewhere else.
