A short walk from Villa Park and close to Witton station, The Yew Tree is set up for matchdays with Sky Sports and TNT Sports across HD screens, making it a convenient pre- or post-match spot to watch other games. Local fan coverage notes it as a Villa matchday option, though recent guidance suggests away fans may face restrictions (you might get in if not in colours). Home supporters in particular will find it handy for a quick pint before heading to the ground or for catching the early/late kick-offs on TV.
This was a once in a while thing I did because I was pining for fried fish and jerk chicken got a dance as well. and listen to great music before the lovers rock came on.lol. Be warned very smoky where the food comes out.. forgot to take pictures of food went down too quick but the food was great it's handy because it's in front of the market wholesale where they get fresh food all the time. My fish was massive.
It's amazing how the place is so energetic and fun rooted in carribean music. People are pleasant and welcoming, and the staff are great. Food is burnt. It's not the quality it used to be, but the server is pleasant even though it's slow. Friday and Saturday nights are really lively. It's not great for parking people use the whole road and it gets packed along with the car park. It's safe, and security always checks everyone along with the metal detectors.
Turned up with 10 of us before the Villa/Forest game and the bloke on the door tried charging £5 entry at 11am on a Saturday morning. Just him in a hi‑vis acting like he’s guarding some exclusive nightclub in Dubai instead of an empty pub that should be grateful anyone even shows up. We just laughed and walked off, another group did the same. They threw away hundreds of pounds in actual business because someone fancied playing bouncer for the day. You couldn’t run a place worse if you tried. If this place survives the year, it’ll be by accident. AWAY FANS – go elsewhere. This place is doing a better job shutting itself down than we ever could. A boarded up door would honestly be an upgrade, at least that wouldn’t pretend to be open!
I accepted an invitation to karaoke and turned up on the night. I had a great time. Karaoke, play your cards right, lovely diverse ,music. Staff were friendly, drinks reasonable.
Great pub to watch football matches and at the back they have Jerky John's with some of the best Jamaican jerk food I've come across in England. Real jerk with a genuine taste of Jamaica.
