The pub's vibrant atmosphere, combined with its quality ales and food, makes it a favored spot for both home and away supporters.
I thought I'd give this house a try, as my daughter is staying nearby in student accommodations. I booked in a month in advance by calling (as they requested on their website) and called the day before to confirm, when we arrived it seemed they were over booked. Apparently they have put some of their room on Expedia (wish that was said on their website!). We ended up on a sofa bed, which actually was ok(ish). Room was clean, sheets and towels felt clean too as did the toilet and shower room, Wasn't exactly what I expected but you learn from your lessons (hopefully). Was only £70 for the night so I shouldn't complain too much.
Great real ale pub with real ales. Excellent quality. Had Abbeydale It's always sunny in shireoaks 4.2 & Burning Soul Isaac IPA 6.2.. Highly Recommended.
As a pub it looks most unpromising from outside, but inside it's a warm friendly comfortable local, with a good range of well kept beers, what's not to like apart from it NOT having a car park in an all hours " pay and display ". I was there on a Sunday evening and no one had a payed label, so obviously no problem. The meters have No time statement so I presume it is supposed to be 7/24.
Friendly, helpful staff. Twin room we had on second floor was warm, clean and comfortable.Enjoyed excellent real ales in bar together with fresh tasty shared platter. Lovely old fashioned local
I’ve always appreciated the role that pubs like The Bull and The Wellington play as local social hubs in Birmingham. It’s clear that running these businesses isn’t easy, especially in challenging times. I hope that staff at these pubs feel supported and valued, as a motivated and respected team is key to great service and a thriving business. Ensuring a positive working environment benefits both the employees and the community who enjoy visiting these venues. Wishing continued success to the team and the pubs, and I hope they remain vibrant parts of the local community for years to come.
