Friendly staff and enjoyed the view and feel of the conservatory, it was warm perfect for my mum. We enjoyed a turkey roast, only things we’d change was the roast potatoes for fresh and the broccoli needed cooking for slightly longer. The carpet looked very tired. Would visit again with a discount code
Fantastic experience at the Longwood. Food is served to a great standard and was super yummy and also very well priced! Great for Groups or just a quiet intimate meal. Staff are really friendly, warm and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. They hold a themed quiz every month! That you can vote on and they’re extremely well thought out and super fun!
Stopped in the Longwood for something to eat, food was very nice and reasonable price. Wait time was standard and the service was really good. The new manager was very polite and professional and made us feel very welcome to the point we will return again soon. Having had a conversation with the new manager we believe with his background and knowledge that the pub will be very successful and wish him and the team all the best going forward.
Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff. Nothing too much trouble. I've had a lasagne at other places which have been chronically awful but the lasagne at the longwood was delicious. Family's food was lovely. Will go back again for defininite.
Very disappointed with our visit to The Longwood. The staff were lovely. Friendly and welcoming in spite of being run ragged. Our reserved table was nice and clean and the staff explained that there would be a slight delay as their manager and head chef had left and another chef had called in sick. However the food didn't take too long to arrive, but when it did it looked very disappointing. I had planned to have steak but they had run out so opted for the chicken flatbread. There was very little chicken and the presentation was poor. My friend had the hunter's chicken which was well cooked but had very little sauce and came with a portion of chips and a scrunched up handful of something green which was unrecognisable. Overall the taste of the food was fine but we wouldn't be in a hurry to repeat the experience. We had a 40% off mains voucher but even with this we didn't feel the meal and drinks offered value for money. I think the meal with a drink offers they do probably offer better value, providing they haven't run out! I might be tempted to try one of those at some point in the future to give them another chance but I'll give it a while in the hope they are able to recruit more staff and a chef who has the time to give some consideration to the presentation of the food.
