The pub offers a warm atmosphere, hearty meals, and a selection of real ales, including Hobgoblin, Marston's Pedigree, and Banks Original/Mild. Additionally, it provides outdoor seating with views of the marina, enhancing the matchday experience. The pub's proximity to the stadium and its reputation among away fans make it a popular choice for visiting supporters.
Pub situated on the wharf. Only one handpull ale on offer and asking for a sample was told' its probably not good as we haven't sold any today' . Not a good start but he was correct, it was awful. No other ale was avaiable so plumped for Guinness. Although the establishment wasn't busy, there were a number of tables that hadnt been cleared of crockery from previous occupants and we found the tables to be very sticky. The food however was very tasty and good value for money.
The food was easily the best thing about this place, with the spicy burger being absolutely epic. While the service was a tad slack at the beginning, the staff were lovely and attentive once things got going, and the pub itself had a nice, welcoming atmosphere. We visited later in the evening, so it was quiet, but that was a bonus for us. It was great to be able to park our campervan in the car park as well. This was a fantastic experience from start to finish.
Absolutely shocking christmas day lunch experience. Diabolical food, we walked out disgusted and are awaiting our full refund within 5-7 days as promised. I have never seen such incompetence in my life. Will never visit again and would NEVER recommend. UPDATED 30/12/25 STILL NO REFUND YET.
Was rudely greeted. Even though I had a table booked, I was asked to go sit anywhere. So booking a yabke was and felt pointless, the pub was freezing cold. Food was OK, I had a mega mixed grill, though the sausages and chicken where bland in taste, the steaks where cooked. My mum and partner had fish and chips, they said it was good. The desert was served cold, apple crumble and custard cma e served cold, both my partners and mums. Services was not good, as previously mentioned, was greeted poorly, even though I'd booked ahead, waiting times was about 30mins to 1hours for desert and a drink. Shame this used to be a brilliant pub many years ago, shame it's gone down hill.
no stars is what they deserve, would you pay almost £70 for this christmas dinner, well my whole family left christmas day without eating christmas dinner. it looked disgusting and was served freezing. i wouldn't have given that to my dog yet alone any of my family . waited 2 hours to be served , staff didn't know what to do. management are horrendous. we got full refund after weeks , by going to head office and opening complaints with bank we used to pay for out christmas dinners. DO NOT WASTE YOUR Money. worst place i've ever been and will not return . i don't know a dinner could even look this bad . the place should be embarrassed serving this ! that was juts part of the horrendous time we had, too much to list. please don't waste money on this place there are so many places offer christmas dinner which are amazing . i've dined out christmas day for years and this is the worst , so bad that we all left without eating christmas dinner.
