Four of us arrived for lunch bang on 12:00 Saturday and we were well looked after. We all ordered different meals which arrived at the same time and were hot and tasty. I had steak and kidney pudding, chips and vegetables which was wonderful and plentiful. We also had the lamb shank, chilli con canrne and chips and vegetarian chili and chips. We will definitely go here again.
Me and some friends walked in and there was a horrible vibe. We were greeted very unkindly by an old man behind the bar trying to buy some drinks after my nans funeral. Whilst trying to order some alcoholic drinks, the old man asked for ID after being very rude to my other half.We then handed our IDs over (we are both 22)he then proceeded to bend and play with our ids and told us they were fake and that they were (too thin) even though I drive a car. I then shown him my keys to prove the ids weren’t fake and he refused to serve us. The rest of my friends who also drive got their ids out and he told them they was fake too. To conclude the man was very rude and seemed to have judged us from when we walked in and I believe he just wasn’t going to serve us from the minute we walked in
Fantastic pub. We came to work in the area for 2 weeks and The Roebuck became our local. Great food, service and a great beer garden. And a special shout out to Mike who looked after us like we were old friends. Highly recommended 😁
Excellent cosy local pub very close to the town centre. Traditional layout with different rooms around a central bar which serves a variety of well kept traditional ales alongside several continental lagers.
Can’t wait to meet friends and family at the Roebuck again. The outside beer garden looks amazing, the lads have certainly been busy over lockdown. Great atmosphere, delicious food, always warm friendly welcome. See you very soon. X
