Popped in for a drink and what can I say, what a nice beautiful gem we’ve found. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was good. Definitely be popping back in again :)
A most enjoyable bar meal with friends, clean tidy, friendly staff and the most unusual real fire for a pub. Worth a visit just to look around.. Very enjoyable food all good here..
Of all my 16 years drinking in 1000's of pubs, this is by far the nicest atmosphere ive ever experienced, every single time. The staff couldnt be more friendly in particular Ben, Carl and Freya. Always guaranteed a good pint, warm and cosy, great food and a laugh. Whether its the staff of the people you end up chatting to. People are always smiley and friendly. Been in so many times now and never once had anything but a happy time. If you are having a bad day, you wont be by the time you take a break and come to the packet :) best pub, best staff, best all round.
Came midweek for a bite of lunch. The barman informed me a large group were due in and there'd be a wait. They then came though and served our food first which was delicious. Great service, good food, not too expensive.
It's great to find a traditional pub where the locals are friendly and the staff are great too! Lots going on - pub quiz Monday nights, karaoke most Friday nights... Nice corners for a quiet chat and a drink, or sit the bar and watch the horse racing... Table tennis in the beer garden when it's warm enough and a real fire in the bar in winter... a genuine welcome, whenever you pop in.
