Usually like this pub whenever we have come in and the staff are normally nice. Today we have come in after the ash vale light turn on and I am extremely disheartened at the rudeness of the staff today. They offer a Christmas cocktail list which myself and my friends were excited to order! When we went to the bar to order ones they asked us very rudely to come back as they didn’t have time for us. We did and we hoped they would be nicer when we came back. Unsurprisingly, it was worse, we went to the bar and they said ‘what the (bad word) do you want now’ we ordered the cocktails and even apologised for being a pain, whilst one staff member was making the cocktail the other member of staff and himself were (bad word) and blinding about us and us ordering the cocktails whilst we were stood there. I’m confused why on earth they would put it on the menu if they didn’t want to make it. They weren’t even hard to make just a few shots and some juice, didn’t even need a shaker..
Really good pub grub with something for everyone. They took and honored a late booking. We really appreciated the lovely food, great attitude and service. We'll be happy to go there again. Thank you.
The Admiral is a quaint little pub! Was nice and quiet with lots of places to sit. Nice and clean pub. Staff at the bar were very friendly too. Ample car parking spaces however this is a Thursday lunch time. A little expensive in comparison to other pubs in the area £36.88 for two burgers a larger top and a tomato juice, still not bank breaking but I think a lunch menu works good was really nice! We had the ranch Reaper burger and the signature desperados nacho burger. 10/10 got to day! Overall a great experience-I bet it is lovely on a sunny day to sit out in the garden. Strong recommendation 🙏
*update* been back March 2024 and Sophie is back. It's back up it's glorious great value roast. Wow! A stunning Sunday roast at unbelievable value can be had here. Booking is advisable as it was very busy. The roast beef, was restaurant quality. Amazing. Perfectly cooked. Up there with the best roast beef I've ever had. The vegetables were also good. Potatoes and parsnips nice and crisp. Lots of gravy and a great big Yorkshire. Everything was piping hot which is a rarity in many places. Plating and service must have been very efficient. If I'm being picky, the cauliflower cheese could have done with being a bit more cheesy and was screaming out for a bit of nutmeg and more seasoning. However, it was only a tiny gripe because it was included within the price of the meal, and not sold as an extra (like most other places). It is a well cooked roast made by a very good chef that loves their food. I can't believe the price, as I've paid much more locally for far less quality. Highly recommended.
Popped into the admiral on my way back from work and had a few pints. The service was great, friendly staff, good atmosphere and cold, fresh pints!
