Great atmosphere and even better food. Really cosy pub and well decorated. I come down from Liverpool to visit my boyfriend often and every time we go to a different pub in the area. And wow the swan is definitely my favorite! I'll be looking forward to my next visit. The staff were really friendly too. Our server in particular as great and answered any questions we had easily. The menu isn't huge but has some really delicious things on there, lots of elevated pubs classics. I ordered the rump steak sandwich on the lunch menu and wow it was such good value for money only £11.75. I got so much juicey steak and it was delicious. It was served on a delicious ciabatta. It was really good bread and I know that because I make my own bread at home. Portions were huge but did mean there was no room to try their dessert menu which I'd be quite keen to come back for. My boyfriend had the toad in the hole and he also said that was so delicious. Thank you so much for such a delicious lunch!
Great location and friendly staff. Unfortunately the food portions for the Sunday roast are quite small and it felt stingy for £18 (picture attached). Not many other food options on a Sunday. Easy parking on site (free).
I have been to this pub twice now and it gets better each time! Really lovely staff, great atmosphere and delicious food. Cosy in the winter and airy in the summer. An easy train journey from Clapham Junction to Ash Vale. The tasty goat’s cheese starter was beautifully presented. Delicious Sunday roast with a good plateful of veggies (and huge Yorkshire pud) but the 2 slices of roast beef were too small and I could have done with another slice! Haven’t sat outside yet but it would be nice next to the river. Love this pub!
Me and my friend came for lunch and had a brilliant time!! Tony the front of house staff was really friendly and attentive. The burgers we had were absolute show stoppers!! They were so SO delicious and came promptly!! Its a beautiful pub with a huge pub garden and lots of parking!!
Served by Tony this evening. an absolutely lovely chap! He was super attentive and clearly has a real love and care for the business. The food was fantastic: 10/10 for the chicken thighs and beef stroganoff 🤩. My other half had the terrine and pork belly and said they were an absolute treat. We both enjoyed a delicious passion fruit martini and had a great conversation with Liv as well. Overall, a truly wonderful place in a gem of a location. We’ll definitely be back!
