Adele, Beth and Miah at Hungry Horse in Walsall are honestly some of the nicest girls and hardest-working workers I’ve ever met. The whole team there from the rest of the staff down to the mangers are incredibly helpful. We bring our service users on a Friday for a meal out and the staff always go above and beyond to ensure they’re well looked after. Even though we sometimes stress them out they always remain professional, patient and kind especially when looking after people with a learning disability. Thank you again to the team at the Walsall waterfront.
(Personal opinion only) First of all, the Yorkshire pudding was delicious! Big and fluffy. It had a nice crispy outer shell. However, the Yorkshire pudding being so outstanding, it had a stark contrast of other food on the table.. Please look at the pictures. Other food was cooked enough to be eaten but it’s not well cooked at all. I was expecting at least a little bit grilled/roasted marks on the food. (Pic 1) pigs in blankets. (Pic 2) Cauliflower and cheese. (Pic 3) roasted potatoes were barely roasted. (Pic 4) vegetables. Put food aside, staff were friendly and polite. Atmosphere was good as usual.
This is one of the nicer Hungry Horse pubs in the area. The decor and furniture look updated and the views of the canal are nice. We did notice that the seating may take long so, we went and sat ourselves. The staff were nice and happy to let us sit anywhere we wanted. The waitresses were polite and seemed to try their best to serve and help everyone. The food was mostly good, pub food. Halloumi fries were too crispy and the cheese stuck to the breading, probably cooked from frozen. However, the rest of the meal was good. The nacho sharer had plenty of toppings and the steaks were cooked to our liking. The Philly steak sub was tasty and with a generous portion of steak. They also seem to have good deals during the week and other special promotions. Overall, good value for money.
Had a lovely lunch and drinks today. Super good activities for the kids from Kids Clink, which was a nice surprise. My daughter loved the peppa pig visit and taking part in all the fun 🥳
Came in a couple days ago, I had the steak(asked for medium well and when I got it it was extra well done) and my son had a burger with cauliflower and chips. My peas and chips were hard aswel as my son’s chips and cauliflower. Once we had ordered pudding we were waiting around half an hour for it, nobody came to collect our plates, I was with a friend and her baby, my friend went to ask how long pudding would be and the lady had to go into the kitchen and shout at the chefs because they were standing about talking. Overall the staff were lovely and it was a nice place to sit and chat.
