Have to say I love this place. Food fantastic as is the selection of drinks. Amazing cocktails as well! Live music Friday and Saturday as well always really good. The staff are simply just amazing! service second to none. A great team always have a smile on their face and happy to help. A credit to the owner and the bar. see you guys at the weekend.
Extremely disappointing experience from start to finish. We waited over an hour for our starter, the mussels. On paper they sounded fantastic, served in a white wine sauce, but when they eventually arrived they were all over the place. Some were hot, some warm, and others were stone cold. They were taken away, only for a member of staff to return around 10 minutes later and tell us they couldn't replace them because the remaining mussels were either broken or already open. To be honest, they didn't smell right in the first place, which left us wondering whether someone had simply tried to piece together a portion from whatever was left. It certainly didn't inspire confidence, and we weren't prepared to risk eating them. Given the wait and the poor handling of the situation, we decided against ordering another starter. The burgers were acceptable, nothing special but edible. Unfortunately, the duck confit arrived only lukewarm, which was yet another disappointment. To top it all off, an 8.5% service charge was automatically added to the bill. Charging extra for service after such a poor dining experience felt quite unbelievable. Long waits, questionable food quality, poorly executed dishes and a service charge added regardless. We won't be returning.
Six of us met for lunch midweek. We had 3 couses and a variety of dishes. The food was excellent, fresh tasty imaginative & well presented. We were mainly looked after by Eve who was professional cheerful & smilily but also joined in with some jovial banter. The last time we were here was eight years ago and is was still just as good. Would highly recommend. Pity we don't live in this area or we would visit more often. Thank you 🙏
The home made fish pie is outstanding. Big king prawns, a rich sauce, grilled mash, served with fat chips and greens (it doesnt need the salad guys). Portions like this should have their own postcode. Second visit this weekend . Staff very helpful. I need a lie down.
We have been a few times and never been disappointed. Good atmosphere and nice place to enjoy a good lunch.
