We stumbled on this Birkenhead spot by pure chance. The name, Gallaghers Pub, felt like a lucky omen for Oasis fans. We lingered on the pavement for a moment, peeking through the window, until a friendly local told us the food was good and we would not regret it. So we went in for a quick bite. We did not expect to stay for hours, watching Liverpool face Galatasaray in the Champions League with the locals and feeling completely at home. Even though Liverpool did not win, the supporters were absolute class. The room had that warmth that makes a first visit feel like a return. It is rare to slip so easily into a crowd, to feel as if you have watched football here many times already, and to leave with the glow of a night well spent. The food and the Guinness were excellent. We had the Fish Finger & Mushy Pea Batch and it was really, really good. The team behind the bar made us feel more than welcome. If your travels bring you to this side of the water, do not pass it by. You will be hard pressed to find better.

One of my very favourite pubs in all of Wirral. Great range of beers to try out which does me when I fancy something outside of Guinness. They do tremendous work on their food. Always smelling delicious and tasting excellent! Do love having a pizza or a burger there. Also enjoy having nachos and cheesy garlic bread. The beer garden is superb and is a must to pop in when the weather is good to be out there. Well decorated. Have been in here during Liverpool matches and while I'm not a regular watcher of football, the fans provide a good atmosphere for the games.

Ventured into this pub as we're starting to become regulars. Great little put stop before home on days when we're at the studio. We were a bit peckish and have enjoyed the food before, so decided to have some burgers. After ordering Elaine popped out to ask about our dietary needs, as we'd ordered the vegan burgers. That level of service is so rare. The food came quickly and hit the spot. Really tastey. After a few drinks we headed home and can genuinely say we were happier for the experience. A lovely evening and plan on having many more.

If you are interested in military memorabilia this is the place for you. All the walls are covered in framed pictures, caps, uniforms, drums and models. You could spend hours reading through it all. Good range of real ales and beers. Had a quick look at the menu but I have not tried the food yet. Will have to come back and try it. Update, I came back and tried the food. My compliments to the chef. I had the sweet chilli chicken and cheese panini. Could have eaten another one. Excellent value for money.
