We visited here through recommendation by our air BnB host and had the most incredible food. The portions were great value for money and the food was absolutely amazing, friendly service and accommodated us arriving early really well. Would love to visit again. Thank you !

We used the 'Duke Room' in The White Horse, after our mothers funeral. It was perfect, such a cosy room and the staff provided all the refreshments without any fuss, very relaxed and professional. Sarah was thoughtful and so easy to communicate with. We would definitely recommend.

My husband has been coming to The White Horse before Joules took it over, and although it's beautiful and they did a great job, it feels soulless. The bartender acted as if we were putting him out by asking for a drink menu (which he said there was none) and we had to get one of the waitresses to ask and she provided one right away. I have never felt so unwelcome in a Joules as this and I always recommend them at the hotel I work, as the food is excellent and the Green Monkey, delicious, but we left due to the atmosphere. Maybe some bartenders that actually like their job abd their guests.

A pub that's full of warm welcomes and clearly run by a great team. We stopped in for dinner, and service was excellent. Despite our waitress admitting to being new and thus unable to give qualified advice on the menu, she was full of charm and attentive throughout. The food was a little more patchy, in all honesty. Highs included the truffle cauliflower cheese croquettes to start (a delicious blend of sweet and salt) and the "our burger" which was cooked to perfection and served alongside some fantastic fries. Comparative lows were the chicken burger that was light on flavour, and the dessert special (a toffee apple crumble and custard) which was overdone and as a result extremely crunchy on top. All forgivable, but for the money (nearing £100 for dinner for two) we did walk away feeling there were better options in the area.

Really good - excellent service. Very friendly and helpful. We went early on Saturday lunchtime and it was quiet, but really busy by the time we left. It's a really nice place with friendly faces, great pub food and an open fire
