Visited today… the food was wonderful and thoroughly enjoyed it! Can’t recommend enough and really reasonably priced. Dessert was fabulous as well Biscoff and salted dark chocolate pot perfect 😍
Food was lovely (although veg had to go back and be re heated as was cold). There was a very long wait between starter and main around 30mins (it was busy with some larger groups but was an excessive time to wait)
A 5 Star experience all round! We met up with the Parents here for a spot of late lunch. The Pork Sunday lunch was spot on, incredibly tasty and served quick! Plenty to drink, the bar was well stocked, beers, ciders, gin and wine, there’s something for everyone. The Armoury itself has a warm and friendly vibe, from the historical nicknacks on the walls to the very polite staff, it was an all round great experience. A must if you’re in the area!
Friendly service, but the only vegan option was pretty poor, the tagine was good, the broccoli too although that was a little cold. It was the couscous, no flavour and it’s simply awful, fortunately I mixed most of it with the tagine which had a nice flavour. The white sauce on the side was a bit of a nothing slightly coconut tasting sauce, added nothing. Had some chips on the side and these were good. There was no vegan desert option, well there was that frozen fruit nonsense but how is that a desert? went to Flora Lounge for chocolate and raspberry torte, they had two vegan desert options. The website which we looked at in the morning boasted of a proper main and desert, none were available as it was a Sunday and their Web had not updated. A meat eating friend had a hair in it, which was dealt with ok, it was odd that the guy asked “do you want me to get you a fresh one” which is off phrasing when dealing with a customer complaint, but the older chap came over and apologised profusely, so not bad customer service on that. But it’s the lack of vegan options which is why we won’t be coming back for food, do yourself a favour, bin the couscous. May come back for drinks though as it’s a nice enough place otherwise.
We arrived early as we had to leave the AirBnB by 11, but they were happy to show us to our table and leave luggage piled up whilst wandering around the quarry. As we just wanted a snack, we got three mains between us (Lamb shoulder, roasted duck leg and battered fish n chips) which everyone enjoyed - lovely rich gravy with the first two! All around wonderful relaxed service - would heartily recommend!
