π 1.1 miles from The Croud Meadow
The Henry Tudor Inn is a historic Grade I listed pub located in Shrewsbury, approximately 2.3 miles from New Meadow, the home ground of Shrewsbury Town FC. Its central location on Wyle Cop makes it easily accessible for both home and away supporters. The pub has a rich history, dating back to 1429, and offers a cozy, atmospheric setting ideal for matchday gatherings. While there is no explicit mention of the pub showing live football, its proximity to the stadium and welcoming atmosphere make it a popular choice for fans seeking a pre- or post-match venue.
We went with friends to celebrate a 60th. The Henry Tudor is a proper old world pub built in the 15th century. We had a great time. And this was absolutely enhanced by an outstanding member of staff called Lydia. Here customer service skills were second to none. And when you think our combined ages would be pushing 1000 years. Between us we have been to a lot of establishments. So a big THANK YOU and WELL DONE to Lydia
I think this must be the oldest pub I've ever been in. According to the signage over the front door it says it was established in 1429. The Tudor interior is stunning, it's impossible to see which is original woodwork and where any of the interior had been modified when they've updated it over the centuries but the overall effect is really great, it feels as though you've gone back in time. It's a Joules brewery pub and contains a good range of their real ales. We didn't have time to try out the food so will have to return to try it out. Well worth a visit if you're visiting Shrewsbury.
Nice place to eat! Very traditional outside and inside. They let us sit in the cell which it was quite cool! Service was fast and food very good. The desserts weren't my favourite choice to be fair, too sophisticated
We had a very nice dinner at the Henry Tudor Inn. Making reservations ahead of time was a good idea because it was busy on a Friday night. The pie of the day was Hot Honey Beef and was excellent. It came with mash potatoes and a variety of fall vegetables, perfectly cooked. The variety and quality of ales was excellent!
Outstanding pub, absolutely stunning place, my new favourite pub in Shrewsbury, the staff are really polite and hard working! Only gripe is the sanitary towel bin in the menβs toilets, give me a break with this woke nonsense! Went for Sunday lunch and it was first class
