Our daughter was due to perform in a show at the local University so we needed somewhere nearby that we could sit and have something to eat and kill a few hours after rehearsal and before the show. Upon arriving we actually thought it was closed, as there appeared to be no lights on. Thankfully curiosity got the better of us and as we grew nearer we could hear music and lights were on downstairs. We were welcomed by very friendly staff and took a table in the window overlooking the river. I can imagine the beer garden with such a view be very popular in the summer. The food was absolutely delicious and with 40% off mains too we were extremely happy! With thanks to the lovely staff. We look forward to returning again in the future

I’ve been coming here for 30 years, it was the Adelphi back then. It’s changed hands many times and they all seem to have great ideas for the place that come to nowt and it’s a shame. it has so much potential but is just being left to go to pot really. It has a great outdoor beer garden overlooking the river but it is shabby and weed ridden. When the students have gone home for the hols it is quiet. The food is basic. We come here for the beer garden tbh, hope it keeps going but just wish someone would invest some much needed cash into the place for a do up, it could be amazing!

Food was standard pub fayre, with a home cooked feel and was very good value for money. Beer options were good with an IPA on tap also. Bar staff were very attentive, personable, polite and friendly and the service was very good. Nice little student type joint with lovely outdoor space and view of the River Irwell. Good selection of music being played. Cheers 🍻

BAD FOOD! People and atmosphere were good but it seems since the recent revamp there is a kitchen staff who are brand new. I ordered last night the mixed grill which was mostly fine but the chicken was boiled so it was squishy and filled with water and had no seasoning. Definitely didn’t touch a grill. Then for desert I ordered the sundae which came in a bowl not a glass and incredibly bad 0 ice cream just some brownies covered in whipped cream. Also had no sauce. Staff are nice but kitchen staff need to be following the items in their meals better

As a friend had a voucher for 30% food discount, we popped in here for lunch. The pub opened a little later than it was supposed to. I chose the Ultimate Southern-Fried Chicken Burger, which came with fries. I didn’t get all the dips mentioned, and the whole meal was nothing special at all. In a word, serviceable.
