Right by Trent Bridge and a short walk from Nottingham Forest’s City Ground, The William Gunn is a convenient pre-match stop. The pub actively shows live football (e.g., promoted Euros coverage) and is listed on a TV-sport finder, so fans can catch early kick-offs. On match days they serve food across the day (breakfast, lunch and evening), making it practical for different kick-off times. Local Forest fans also recommend it among the closest pubs to the ground, which reflects its busy home-matchday atmosphere.
Very nice pub. We just called in for a drink but saw that food was half price on Mondays. Food was excellent! Beer selection was OK. Service was also excellent.
The William Gunn truly exceeded our expectations! We were looking for a dog-friendly pub where we could relax, enjoy good food, and settle into a cosy corner—and this place delivered on all fronts. We were seated in a wonderfully snug spot with warm, dim lighting, and our dog was warmly welcomed with a large bowl of water, which was a lovely touch. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive throughout. The only downside was the wait time—it took nearly 50 minutes for our meals to arrive. Because of that, we decided to skip dessert, as we didn’t want to end up spending over three hours there. That said, everything else was excellent, and we’d definitely return (just maybe when we’re not in a rush).
I booked a table for 18 for a family Christmas gathering. Food and service was great. Very impressed. The only small thing was that communication was difficult. I had to call and email multiple times, to ask about menu options available to us, arrange a pre order and see if I needed to pay a deposit. Other than that was great. We'll be back. Thanks 🙏🏼
This pub is outstanding. It is really modern and it has only been open a few months. I went for Sunday lunch with my dad and I have to say it was outstanding. It was really tasty and delicious. I had a cauliflower cheese as a side order and this was really nice. Then I had to finish off with the sticky Toffee Pudding with custard for dessert. We'll what can I say it definitely got my taste buds going and it was superb. I would definitely recommend it to everybody x x
We were visiting Nottingham to watch our rugby team play an this establishment was close to the stadium. The food was superb, the service was superb and the staff very friendly. I would highly recommend this place.
