About this Pub

Pitcher & Piano Nottingham
Pitcher & Piano Nottingham has shown live football on a big screen (e.g., ticketed screenings for UEFA Euro 2024), making it a viable spot when televised fixtures clash with match travel. Its Lace Market city-centre location gives easy access to transport (near the Lace Market tram stop/Old Market Square), helpful for fans heading to either the City Ground or Meadow Lane. Food is served daily with clear kitchen hours, so groups can eat pre- or post-match, and the venue appears in local fan guidance as a recommended pre-game city-centre bar option. Altogether, it works as a neutral, mixed-fans meeting point in town with screens for big games and reliable food service on matchdays.

I had the most wonderful experience hosting our Content Mamas event at Pitcher & Piano. From start to finish, the team were incredibly welcoming, attentive and supportive, making the entire experience feel effortless and genuinely special. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful and provided the perfect setting for our event, but what truly stood out was the staff — nothing was ever too much trouble and everything was handled with such care and professionalism. Chelcie in particular was amazing — so warm and friendly, and incredibly prompt and supportive from our first emails right through to the day of the event. Thank you for helping me create such a memorable day. I couldn’t have asked for a better venue and would highly recommend Pitcher & Piano for both events and a lovely dining experience.

One of the best restaurant in the city of Nottingham. Historical building and gorgeous church with stainless window, you feels the atmosphere under romantic music. Foods and drinks are at reasonable prices and good quality. Nice staff and tidy place too. Highly recommend.

Cocktails were decent. I’d probably come back with friends for this. However, the food was such a let down, we ordered 5 small plates and 2 mains. Small plates; pork belly came in 5 flat pieces with sauce drizzled on top of it. Chicken were 3 pieces and it was cold and dry inside. Mushroom was delish, if you love cheese pull, but you’d only get like 4 bites out of it, the crispy bread was nice. Cauliflower came breaded same as chicken, came in cold and had sauce drizzled on top. Mac and cheese, it had potential, but it was bland and literally the bbq sauce just gets squirted on top. Mains; Hunter’s chicken was bland and dry inside and half of your plate would be garden peas topped up with mixed veg swimming in gravy, the potatoes had nice texture but again bland. Steak (medium rare), not even a grain of salt or pepper touches their steak or a slice of butter, just raw dogged in the grill, it was tough, the beef wasn’t a good quality, but the chips were nice and the only hot thing that came to that table. Service is okay, no one greeted us at the door so we had to go to the bar to ask where we go. When we were sat down, no one explained to us how it works in this place. There was another table near us with their menus down just looking around waiting to make eye contact with servers. Ben was nice though, he was running around doing loads of things but he needs to check on his tables before doing other tasks.

What a wonderfull Sunday we had at Church, they seved cocktails and playd great music. The repurpose of this church was done really well as they kept the structure and history of this great building. Fun to go out to a place like this that is different and exotic where your eyes are kept excited while you sip on a well mixed coctail. When in Nottingham spoil yourself, have a drink and a snack here, you deserve it!!

Piano & Pitcher is set in a beautifully converted church right in the city centre—a truly impressive space with high vaulted ceilings and stained glass windows that have been carefully preserved. Even the walk up to the toilets offers a striking view overlooking the main bar, highlighting just how grand the building really is. The seating is well spaced out, making it a comfortable place to sit and chat over drinks. We took advantage of their two-for-one cocktail deal available during the week and started with Old Fashioneds. The first round, made by the main bartender, was lovely—smooth, balanced, and well presented. However, the second round was a disappointment. It was prepared by a different member of staff while the bartender was on break, and the quality dropped significantly—the drink was watery, poorly mixed, and even had an orange garnish that appeared off, which we couldn’t overlook. We returned it and switched to Negronis, which were just average. Overall, Piano & Pitcher offers great value for money in a stunning setting, but the cocktail quality is inconsistent and seems to depend heavily on who’s behind the bar. With a bit more consistency, it could easily live up to the beauty of its surroundings.
