A practical matchday choice for visiting supporters: it’s a short walk from Nottingham railway station (listed at ~200m) and is specifically mentioned in away-fan guides as a city-centre option for visiting fans. On matchdays you can catch televised football here (TNT Sports listed), grab a proper meal from the pub’s kitchen (daily service with a full menu), and choose from a sizeable beer range that includes multiple cask and craft keg lines—handy for groups meeting pre- or post-game.
I have been to this amazing 4 times now and absolutely love it. It’s very unique as it has a canal boat in water inside the pub! You go over a footbridge to get to the bar. They have a great selection of real ale and real ciders. I like real cider and they had 6 on, I had the Ilford Windfall cider a good session cider. I also tried their food, went with a pie of the week which was a steak and red wine pie served with chips and peas which tasted like they were freshly podded peas! It was a deffo 10/10 for the pie, really good quality. I’ve been here for live standup comedy nights, it has other rooms for functions. I’ve yet to visit here in the summer as only recently discovered it but I imagine it’s extraordinarily popular as it’s right next to the canal. They are on untapped app. They have free very fast wifi (75mbps down, 116mbps up). Highly recommend this pub if you are in Nottingham, only a 3 minute walk from Nottingham railway station. Definitely on my fave pub list.
My first time here, a relaxing atmosphere, very friendly and welcoming, a great place to visit and meet up with friends especially before going on to watch Forest when they're playing at home ... I'm definitely having a meal on my next visit... There's a great selection of beers available and the Canalhouse is only 10 to 15mins walk from the Market Square... Easy access for the disabled and also dog friendly... There's also outside seating available... Come and enjoy you will not be disappointed...
1 of the most fascinating pubs I’ve ever been to…. great selection of beers fantastic customer service A must visit in Nottingham.
Absolutely beautiful place to go for dinner. It has a really nice vibe in there & is dog friendly as well! They also have a covered outdoor area. The food is decent and there are vegan/veggie options.
If you want a place away from the business, don't come here. If you want good service then you do. We ordered the maple pulled pork loaded friend, and pizza fries, with the latter being better. I was just a little disappointed as I was expecting/hoping to see canal boats steered through the pub instead of moored up.
