📍 2.1 miles from Stadium mk
Set in Woolstone (MK15 0AA), The Cross Keys serves full meals with clearly published kitchen hours, making it a reliable pre- or post-match stop. WhatPub lists the pub on Arriva Bus route 4, and Arriva confirms this service links Central Milton Keynes and Bletchley—useful for getting towards Stadium MK. MK Dons’ own matchday information confirms several bus services stop by the stadium, so fans can connect from CMK/Bletchley to the ground. Real ale is also a focus here, which may appeal to supporters planning a sit-down meal before heading on.
Went for dinner with a couple of friends. Beautiful cosy pub. Food was very good. We had the vegan burger, chicken caesar salad and the chicken Parmesan. Good portion sizes and everything tasted fresh and flavourful. Service was top notch and with very warm welcoming smiles throughout our meal. Even after we finished our meal we sat and talked for an hour and we were never interrupted to order more drinks etc. Will surely return!
The food was delicious, the service was wonderful, and overall the atmosphere was great. I do agree with other reviewers that it gets quite warm inside, so keep that in mind when planning your visit. I would have gladly given five stars if not for an issue with our reservation. I made it almost six days in advance and clearly noted that we would be bringing a dog. Additionally, Google Maps lists the restaurant as dog-friendly. However, just three hours before our reservation, I received a call from the administrator informing me that dogs were not allowed. The only alternative offered was seating in the bar area, which cannot be reserved. I also asked about sitting on the terrace, but was told that food service there could not be guaranteed. Unfortunately, the administrator did not express any regret for the late notice, did not apologize, and did not offer a solution. This significantly limited the time we were able to stay and celebrate my birthday. Aside from this experience, everything else was wonderful.
Just had afternoon lunch with the family and out new born grandson, excellent food and drinks, very helpful staff. Plenty of choices for both food and drinks, delicious dessert choices, the Irish coffee was the finale 👍 Limited parking as it gets very busy at popular times, definitely need to book and tables provide plenty of room both inside and outside. Very reasonable prices and portion sizes are on the large size, food nice and hot when served. Always a pleasure to visit when we are in the area 👌
Tried this pub for a roast dinner as it’s a half way point for ourselves and our friends. What a great find! Easy parking, fantastic roast with great portion sizes (and enough gravy!) and service was excellent. Alex our main waiter was great, friendly and attentive but all the other staff were really friendly too. Very impressed and will definitely return
We visited The Cross Keys in Milton Keynes for the first time on a Sunday and had a wonderful experience. The pub itself is full of character, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The staff were excellent – friendly, attentive, and genuinely made the visit even more enjoyable. The food was superb, especially the sharing Sunday roast platter, which was absolutely delicious and perfect for a relaxed meal together. A lovely old pub with great service, fantastic food, and plenty of charm. We’ll definitely be returning!
