📍 2.4 miles from Stadium mk
Located on Midsummer Boulevard, a short 3–5 minute walk from Milton Keynes Central station, this large Wetherspoon is a well-used meet-up for visiting supporters before heading to Stadium MK (around four miles from the city centre). Club and fan guides explicitly direct away fans here. The pub serves food from breakfast through late evening and Wetherspoon pubs run live sport screenings (including football) during the ‘Summer of Sport’, making it handy for catching games pre- or post-match. CAMRA also notes it as a popular, accessible meeting place close to transport, with a substantial cask range, which suits larger away followings.
We visited this Wetherspoons branch at Bouverie Square, Milton Keynes for a family lunch and ordered fish and chips through the app (Table 320, order reference 656582). The portion of fish we received was noticeably smaller than what we have previously been served at this pub. However, the main issue was not the food itself but the way our concern was handled. When we politely raised the matter, the duty manager came to the table. His response was dismissive and unprofessional. He smirked at the plate and stated “I’m not changing it or taking it back, that’s how it is.” When I asked for his name, he refused to provide it and said “I don’t have one,” before walking away. This attitude completely removed the enjoyment from what was meant to be a pleasant family afternoon. Basic courtesy and professionalism cost nothing. I contacted Wetherspoon head office following the incident and received a standard response advising that the area manager would look into the matter. Unfortunately the experience and the way it was handled has put us off returning to this location.
After the last Wetherspoons experience in Bedford I was hoping this one made up for it! It did! You can’t knock the value for money, for £15 I got a large pizza, large chips, large soft drink and a curry sauce. The pizza was good maybe could have had a bit more topping on it, the portion of chips was good and the curry sauce was as good if not better than many chip shops! You can also add an extra chicken breast to meals that has seemed to have disappeared any many other locations, although it is £2 now. The service was good and a good atmosphere, there is also some outside seating.
Typical Wetherspoons, so it was busy but service friendly and quick, plenty of tables despite being busy. Prices for drinks and food entirely reasonable and fair, the app is brilliant allowing you to order for service direct to your table. Clean toilets too. Worth a visit.
A large Spoons with good service and a good breakfast. The toilets were clean. Opposite the Olive Tree. I never like the sticky menus.
Really enjoyable, lots of space with a nice outside terrace. Food just the same as other wetherspoons, came promptly and staff were attentive
