Lovely old pub, hotel, lovely home cooked Sunday roast, friendly chatty staff, titanic plum porter!!!!! My fave beer ever, will definitely be back, 5 stars all the way! The restaurant upstairs (not advertised anywhere! A hidden gem!) The food, staff, location, amazing!!!!! Just had the mid week Sunday roast, omg, one of the best! My fave pub and restaurant in cleerthorpes, genuinely, lovely! Update, restaurant jowls jo linger available, the pub is lovely, the manager is a babe, friendly, chatty, honestly lovely, all staff top notch, plum porter 1st class still, and I have had titanic plum porter in a lot of pubs and beer festivals! Lovely pub, centrally located, sad no food anymore but honestly, if you like a well looked after live real ale, you can't go far wrong, GO!

A lovely cosy little pub with a great atmosphere. The lady who served us was friendly and welcoming. A group of 10 of us stayed for about an hour enjoying a few drinks, card games, good fun and laughs. We didn't eat so I can't comment on food but the drinks prices were reasonable. We would definitely return.

A Charming Afternoon at the Nottingham House (If you like being treated like a nuisance) Popped into the Nottingham House yesterday. Given the place had all the atmosphere of a ghost town during a lockdown, you’d think a bit of custom would be welcomed with open arms. Instead, we were treated to a masterclass in how to make customers feel like they’ve walked into a private living room uninvited. By the time we sat down with our drinks, the Landlady had started her dinner—which perhaps explains why her face looked like a bulldog chewing a wasp. The Highlights: * The Great Escape: Our dog—a hardened criminal, clearly—had the audacity to move two yards toward me at the bar while we were unhooking his lead to take his coat off. * The Silent Sentinel: Before you could say "it’s a bit cold out," the Landlady abandoned her pint-pulling to march from around the bar. With a face like a slapped ham, she gave us a wonderfully patronising lecture, pointing at the "Dogs on Leads" sign as if she was explaining the concept of a door handle to the village idiot. * A Silence Worth Gold: I’ve since seen on Facebook that she’s lost her voice (again) and is communicating via Post-it notes. It’s a bold business move. Perhaps she could use a yellow sticker to write: "I’m eating, please go away," or "Custom appreciated, but misery preferred." If you enjoy a side of condescension with your pint, this is the place for you. As for us? Next time we’re in Cleethorpes, we’ll be taking our "dangerous" dog and our money elsewhere. Cheer up, Nikki. If you hate the public that much, there are plenty of jobs that don't involve speaking to them—which should suit your current Post-it note situation perfectly. 10/10 for misery.
