I stayed in a nearby hotel and went into The Cannon on the recommendation of the hotel staff when I asked for a nearby pub that does good cask ales. The Cannon is a nice neigborhood pub with excelent beer and a very nice and welcoming atmosphere. I planned to have one pint but stayed several hours and even got to enjoy some really good live music.
We enjoyed a few pints here on a Sunday evening - it was surprisingly busy. Drinks were not bad price. The pub itself has lots to offer - there is a large seating area outside (at back). There is a pool table, a dart board, some TV's, and a juke box. The pub has the bar in the centre and feels like it's split in half - one side is a bit quieter than the other! Nice pub and it felt a bit unique / unusual from other pubs we have been in.
Very friendly pub. This was our first time here, and the staff and customers made us feel welcome. Great band too!!
What other pub does snowball fights !! This place is awesome ! Children and pet friendly, great atmosphere. Highly recommend it 👌
Only popped in for a quick drink. Friendly and quick service. No seating in or out as very busy. Lovely seating area outside under a canopy, great atmosphere
