When you feel overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of multicultural life and crave the true spirit of Britain's past, "The Prince of Wales" pub feels like the only right choice. From the corner, you are greeted by the calm tone of conversations and unobtrusive music. Two large screens continuously broadcast premium sports channels, and the wide selection of drinks allows you to find the perfect taste for the moment. Of course, no traditional pub would be complete without classic entertainment like darts or a fruit machine. The staff is exceptionally friendly, and as a foreigner, I have never experienced even the slightest hint of discrimination. The tables and toilets are clean, and their slightly aged appearance only adds to the pub's charm. When you leave, the bartender seeks eye contact and nods as if to say, "Come back to us – this is your home." I will definitely return... .
Was okay. The bartender who served us our drinks and food was friendly, they had a few vegan options but it wasn't the best. The vegan Shepard pie was nice but the pie and nuggets we're hard. My boyfriend struggled to cut through the pie crust that much that the table was shaking from having to dig in and carve it. I don't know if they were a bit overcooked or hadn't been defrosted properly, but they were a struggle for the people I was with to eat. I've been asked to also add that the nuggets came with sauce and veg already on it and was suggested that those be served separately instead. One of our party members doesn't like sauce so wasn't very pleased to have it over their food. Some people are picky eaters and others can't eat certain foods/condiments. The food looked good and was well presented, though. Also, the vegan apple pie and custard was lovely and well enjoyed.
Travelling for work so did not know the area and this place came up on Google and was a 2 min walk from my hotel. I came here for my evening meal, I order a pint of Stella and a mixed grill. When the lady at the bar said the total I thought o God let's see how this is... the price was what I found to be was very cheap £13.29 for both the food and drink #bargin. Food came promptly and was of a good portion. The steak was cooked to how I asked and the rest of the food was lovely, I was surprised given the cost. The only reason I did not give full marks lol was I could of done with more mayo and I am sure if I'd of asked I would of been given some and the peas just slightly hard, others will love them like that. Would I eat here again ?? Yes, most definitely.
A gem of a hotel central to both Chatham and Gillingham. Clean comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful great place to stay and I will be again very soon
Very clean pud with many choices of beer and lagers. There is also a very good menu with choice’s. Mixed Grill £9.99 it has Rump Steak and Gammon Steak with Chicken Breast and Cumberland sausage with fried egg and Chips and peas. 😂 Also very good for watching sports.
