We had a lovely warm welcome at this lovely little pub on Sunday, and a fabulous roast dinner too. Unfortunately today was very different. No warm welcome, food disappointing. There was a layer of grease on top of the very bland sauce in which the cajun salmon sat, couldn't taste any cajun at all. I did mention this to the server. The cottage pie was ok.

Overall have to say I found our visit a little disappointing. Lack of facilities for disabled customers. No designated spaces outside to park and no disabled toilets inside. Basically a free for all where parking is concerned. There is a space outside to park but no marked out bays. Prices were reasonable and food ok but not the biggest of portions. We ordered fish and chips and cheese and onion pie. The fish was nice but you would expect that at a seaside establishment. But it wasn’t the biggest of portions. The same could be said for the pie. We both thought the chips were frozen. I ordered curry sauce on the side but it was too thin for me. No one asked if we had any allergies or came over during our meal to check if everything was alright. At the end we were asked and unfortunately the beer we had ordered was flat. Most of it was left. The member of staff said it was a new beer, Belhaven Belter, they were trying but there was no offer to take it off the bill or replace it with something else. So as I said overall a disappointment. It’s quite out of our way so nothing in our experience would prompt us to rush back to visit again.

We come here pretty much every Sunday for dinner and it never disappoints. The food is always spot on, proper pub food done well, and the portions are generous. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and it’s just a really easy, comfortable place to spend an evening. Great atmosphere, good service, and consistently good food β€” which is why we keep coming back. If you’re after a reliable local pub for a relaxed meal, this is definitely one to try.

Stopped at the Bourne Arms on a visit to Knott End-on-sea. Excellent homemade food and a good range of drinks. Service by the team was excellent, they were all really friendly and helpful. All served on the "poop deck" with a fantastic view of the bay. We will definitely return. Thanks guys! πŸ˜πŸ‘
