Took my mum here for Sunday lunch, she opted for the chicken tikka curry, I went with medium carvery. My mum really enjoyed her meal and we paid a little extra for poppadoms and chutney and my carvery was lush. Highly recommend, the staff checked if we were happy with meal, all smiles like they really enjoyed their jobs. If you're thinking about going here, there's plenty parking and the atmosphere was nice and quiet with pent tv screens around if interested in news etc
Visited the Tavern earlier this week, one of Joseph Holt's pubs situated in the picturesque craft village of Marsh Mill in Thornton-Cleveleys and sampled their recently launched Spring menu. We tried the following: 》The Ultimate Burger | Classic Beef burger, crispy buttermilk chicken fillet and slow cooked beef brisket topped with mature Cheddar, BBQ sauce and beer battered onion rings 》Joseph Holt's Trailblazer braised Featherblade Steak and Melting Onions with olive oil crushed new potatoes, garlic buttered spinach and green beans 》Hot Honey Chicken | Battered chicken breast chunks in a sticky spiced honey glaze 》Garlic and Stilton Mushrooms | Button mushrooms in a creamy garlic and stilton sauce paired with a garlic-herb ciabatta 》The Lakes' Sticky Toffee Pudding served with custard 》Joseph Holt's Trailblazer Stout & Chardonnay Thoroughly enjoyed everything that we had from the moreish hot honey chicken & creamy mushroom starters to the perfectly cooked tender featherblade steak, flavourful (massive) burger and scrumptious sticky toffee pudding. Looking for a place to unwind with your significant other or mates while enjoying a fab selection of hearty food, homemade desserts, cakes, beers, ales and a carvery available seven days a week? Tavern at the Mill's got you sorted.
Not bad. However the food is much better at the half way house. ( same menu ) had the dirty fries and they was burnt. The chicken and leak pie was also burnt. The pie had about 2 bits of chicken in as well , very disappointed. And unless you want ripped off then don't get an ice creme £3.60 for one tiny scoop. Better off walking round to the mini tesco and getting one there. The Mash was nice though.
We booked a table for 6 and a baby, we arrived to find we'd been sandwiched in between 2 other groups with no room for a high chair or buggy making it a squeeze for all involved. Common sense, you'd put us on and end table but hey ho. Staff were present, not much offered above and beyond what can I get you. The food was ok, we had the carvery, most of it looked like it had been sat under hot lights a while so was getting shrivelled and a crisp on the surface but it was a decent price compared to some places but then I'd rather have paid a bit more for fresher nicer produce. We Wouldn't rush back.
Good portion of meat. Home made yorkshires. Would have liked veg to be less soggy but that is personal preference. Staff very friendly and ice cream looked delicious loads of favourite flavours. Can take dogs into bar area and order food if you wanted. Dog bowls also provided. All round lovely pub.
