We met for a Christmas meal with friends, they made it special by setting the table nicely. The food was yummy we enjoyed it. Thanks Katie and the team on shift for setting the tone for the season
Karen is so helpful! we had a slight issue with our food but she is so friendly and in the ball, she fort it sorted straight away! every time we come, you always make our visit worth it ❤️
Went in for lunch, pint and a steak sandwich for £8.99 and was pleasantly surprised given how reasonably priced it was. Karen our server was lovely, really attentive. Was really busy but still plenty of room for walk ins.
Had Christmas day meal. Service was shocking. No organisation, Some waitress did not have a clue. We were told we couldn't order drinks at the table and to go the bar. But then they seated a couple next to us and took there drinks order. We had to queue at the bar for over 20 minutes with 2 staff on the bar. Starter came out which was fine. Main meal, veg wasn't cooked properly. Dessert were fine. Then we were told we had to leave the table as they needed it for the next sitting even though we were 20 minutes behind from having to queue for drinks at the start.
Considering my past experiences with other Greene Kings, I actually had a decent visit here. Randomly popped in while passing through to watch the football, where there were plenty of screens and a friendly atmosphere. Ordered food (5 small plates for £22) and for what it is, it was decent pub grub. Definitely better than Wetherspoons food (not the drinks though) 😂. Only gripe was the Guinness… the girl behind the bar was polite, but she didn’t pour it properly, and I couldn’t be bothered to correct her. Small detail but for me it makes a difference. Overall, a solid 3-star visit. Wouldn’t rush back, but if you’re in the area and need a spot to watch the game, it does the job. 📸 Full reviews also up on my Instagram (weekend at sunjz) 🌍.
