The Raven Inn

📍 0.6 miles from Mornflake Stadium

About this Pub

The Raven Inn
The Raven Inn’s sports bar has two flat-screen TVs “showing all sports live,” making it a solid spot to watch early kick-offs or post-match coverage. It’s around 1.3 km from Crewe railway station, and Crewe Alexandra’s Mornflake Stadium is very close to the station, so it’s a walkable option before or after games. Cask choice is a draw for groups: Sharp’s Doom Bar is a house regular, with rotating guests such as Wye Valley Butty Bach, Titanic and Ossett beers; recent check-ins also show Butty Bach and Wigan Brewhouse’s Soul Boy being served. Light bites (sausage rolls and baps) are available Fri–Sun, handy on weekend matchdays.

Not been in one of these for a long time, a classic looking estate pub. Some decent cask ales.

Dropped in for a quick half, which turned into 2 - the selection was so good! To paraphrase Star Trek 'it's an estate pub, Jim, but not as we know it'. Unless you are a local, and sometimes even then, these estate pubs are a no-go area for cask ale drinkers (at least those without a death wish). The Raven is definitely not in this lager and threatening 'did you spill my pint?' category and all the better for it. I would not have believed it had I not seen it with my own eyes. A worthy addition to The Good Beer Guide.

This is a truly amazing, fun, friendly pub with entertaining live music and great ale at reasonable prices. It's a bit like a mix between Phoenix Nights and Colonel Kurtz's hideout in Apocalypse Now, with a side order of the Mos Eisley Cantina.

Really impressed with this place. Great live music venue with a huge stage. Locals all really friendly, big screens for sport and the beer was decent. 6 or so different cask ales on rotation, all safe choices (light ales) on our visit, but the coming soon board had some excellent beers on. Proper friendly boozer, it goes on the list to visit again.
