📍 1.0 miles from Memorial Stadium
The Wellington is a popular pre-match venue for Bristol Rovers supporters, located just a 5-minute walk from the Memorial Stadium. It offers a welcoming atmosphere with live sports coverage, including football, and serves traditional pub food, making it an ideal spot for fans before and after matches.
The shower room was lovely. Large mirror, large shower with good water pressure and perfect temperature control. The tea and coffee making station was attractively arranged, useful, appreciated; and the fridge is a game changer. Nice to see an installed air con unit but we didn't need it. The room was an absolutely perfect 18 degrees. I found the number of pillows and cushions especially generous as I like to sleep mostly upright so well done for that! Most hotels I hunt around for extra cushions and improvise. Staff were busy but polite. I cannot fault you guys on anything. If I say I hated the stairs, well, that's Bristol for you. Lots of old buildings with steep staircases, so that's just an expected part of the experience.
Our stay at the Wellington was very enjoyable. In total our family had four rooms for 2 nights on a Friday and Saturday in February. The weather was miserable and cold, but our stay was very comfortable with a warm welcome from the friendly staff The rooms were clean comfortable and the little fridge with a bottle of cold water and fresh milk for tea and coffee from the coffee machine was a treat. The beer was very tasty and although regrettably we didn't manage to try the food on offer what we noticed being served looked very tasty. We would definitely stay again.
Carl the manager is excellent - really welcoming and can’t do enough for you. Izzy and Grace were looking after us and they also were excellent - service with a smile, and again nothing was too much trouble for them. The pub itself is top notch with a good selection of drinks and the food also was very good. The outdoor space is good but has potential to make it better and used more in colder weather, if heaters were installed in the patio area and the old play area was made better use of, for example. Overall I love this pub and we are very lucky to live close by.
We are so pleased that we booked The Wellington for our two night stay as a group of four adults this week. We were in Bristol to try a local restaurant and our stay here made our two days even more magical. From the moment we arrived and checked into our two double rooms, we knew we were in for a treat. We sat and soaked in the afternoon sun in the beer garden with reasonably priced drinks. The Korev lager is our new favourite. Breakfast both days was great and we enjoyed our drinks in the bar and curry and a pint on the Wednesday night. Excellent service filled with care I’m every interaction. We will most definitely be back.
We stayed at The Wellington in Bristol for one night last weekend and could have happily stayed for longer. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and stylishly decorated. The bed was very comfortable with high-quality bedlinen. Exactly what you would expect in a posh hotel! There was complimentary nespresso coffee and a selection of fine teas and biscuits. We did not have the chance to eat at the restaurant, but we did manage a drink at the bar. The service was friendly and the bar was clean and airy. Would definitely stay here again next time we are in the area.
