Arrived for our 1 pm Christmas lunch, still waiting at 1,35.We had to remind them no one had come to serve us ! My pate arrived, two lovely wedges of Pate ,lettuce ,but only two small circles of bread,Why can’t they give you enough bread / toast to spread the Pate on .Onto the Christmas dinner. ,pale not crispy roast potatoes ,which were missing off my friends plate. she had to ask for some ! The pigs in blankets needed browning more. The winterberry cheesecake only came with a spoon, where are the forks these days when you order a sweet. The base of the cheesecake was thick and hard to break. Later my friends ordered two Lattes which were only lukewarm !! Disappointing

Exceptional food served for a table of twelve adults. All food piping hot and full of flavour. Servings were very good, no complaints and all were captains of the clean plate club.

didnt use the rooms but the pub itself is in a nice location close to bridge for easy chance to leave, foods pretty mid, do an ight pint, servers where nice enough apart from one younger lad who was quite rude, he didnt give his name but he looked around 15-17 and had brown hair and stubbley "beard", few spots on their face, however i wont let it affect my review too much. All in all probably wont come back. Go tipsy shamrock for a good time.

Lovely place Great place set in a lovely hotel. Rooms well laid out and modern. Beds very comfortable. Didn't get an evening meal as attending a function elsewhere. The breakfast was amazing and very substantial. Great views from the room over bowling green and out to fells. Would really recommend a stay here. Staff very helpful and freindly. Price very reasonable includes breakfast.

Attended for an early family Christmas meal. I chose the roast beef dinner. Meal arrived and the presentation was so good it led me to think the meal would suit. However disappointment soon arrived. The vegetables were cold and very undercooked. My fork wouldn't go in the carrots (2 of) or the sprouts (2 of). The beef was tough and fatty and so difficult to cut. The plate of food looked like there was plenty, however the food was placed on top of a large dollop of mashed potatoes! 2 roast potatoes. On the plus side the stuffing was nice. |Had sticky toffee for desert. First time ive ever had cold sticky toffee. |The general talk between the 20 of us eating was a terrible meal all round. It was said the turkey was very dry. |I understand there was 20 of us, but a restaurant should be able to supply hot food to a group this size. If not let us know when we book. |I won't be rushing back.
