Very convenient location for staying while visiting a family member in hospital. I wasn't expecting much, just chose it because of reasonable price and location but I was very happy with my stay. The room standard was very good: clean and comfortable, everything you could need was there, quiet - no noise at all from the bar (on a Tuesday anyway). Free parking - you go in their pay and display car park but don't pay - give your car reg to reception on arrival. Very friendly staff. I felt very comfortable eating on my own in the bar/restaurant. The bar customers were not intrusive. Staff very pleasant and helpful. It's a nice place. No lift if you need that.
We have stayed again here at the end of January, we have stayed here many times recently whilst visiting family, the staff are always very helpful and friendly. The bedrooms are always clean, the food is fantastic value. This time various members of staff helped us, especially Ben who helped us at reception book another stay in February, he helped us even though he had finished his shift, We will definitely come back to this hotel again.|Date of visit: December 2025
Great for a short stay. Staff friendly and helpful 👌. Only had an issue with the shower pipe on the bath but more to inform them about water leaking on the pipe which probably needed tightening. Otherwise a very nice stay and a convenient wetherspoons pub downstairs
Stayed for a night in hotel with my girlfriend. Great value for money. Free parking. Reception service was excellent. Food hot and tasty, quick service, staff friendly. Free tea and coffee in pub downstairs. Only issue was a false fire alarm going off 4 times during the night.
I am appalled at the behaviour of some staff in this establishment. I used to come here everyday for the last 3 years, never had a bad moment with any staff… until tonight. I have come in for a couple drinks with friends to wind down after watching some fireworks for bonfire night just to be SCREAMED at for no reason whatsoever by a horrible member of staff. The short blonde woman behind the bar should never be allowed to face customers, she should be banished to the kitchen for as long as she works there. Her people skills needs work all I was doin was waiting to be served.
