The Red Robin is a popular pre-match venue for away supporters visiting the DW Stadium, located approximately 500 yards from the ground. It offers a welcoming atmosphere for both home and away fans, with large screens showing live football from Sky Sports, TNT Sports, and terrestrial channels. The pub serves a variety of hot food options, including a daily carvery, burgers, and other pub classics. Greene King IPA is the regular ale available, and the venue provides a range of drinks, including cocktails and ciders. The Red Robin is known for its lively matchday atmosphere, making it a favored spot for fans.
We had the carvery, with extra Yorkshire puddings (see photo). Meat was good. I would give 5 star review for the food but, as a personal preference, I prefer my vegetables cut smaller. And and I also think the carrots were not peeled, just haphazardly chopped and thrown in hot water. Again just my personal preference. The staff were very friendly. As a disabled person when I asked for assistance I was helped and it was given with a genuine smile and eagerness to please. The atmosphere was ok but the lighting in the pub/restaurant made the place look gloomier than the actually good vibes. I prefer to see what I am eating not guess due to poor lighting. Overall I would definitely recommend the place. My husband who has memory issues has mentioned this pub a few times since our return from our journey in Wigan.
Had a nice meal here during the week when not too busy. The reason I have given 5 star is for staff member Tracey Riley who was very helpful and friendly just how customer service should be. She went above snd beyond to help and make us feel welcome. Defo worth a visit.
Worst experience ever here today Sunday 22nd of Feb, took our children to the wacky completely over crowded and unsafe (money comes first clearly) then onto the carvery at 4:30pm again over crowded and children running wild, had to clean our own table as it was filthy...waited 30 minutes to order drinks as the young lad behind the bar doesn't know what he is doing and is the slowest bar boy I've ever known....we get our carvery and I pull a long blonde hair out my mash (Yummy) told the staff which was about as much use as a chocolate fire guard. It's gone completely down hill.
We love coming down for food the atmosphere us always good. Usually get served on the bar by Amelia or Dee who are always very friendly and have a smile on their face. Tracey is also friendly and a smile on her face and is always happy to help
Worse place to eat. Never experienced anything like that before. Came for carvery but there was none. No reason given. Ordered food from menu and it was tasteless, like katsu curry with no curry to eat with pulao rice. Supposed to be Chinese white rice 😅 Service was even worse, ordered chicken strips and received tasteless wings. No taste of any salt and halloumi fries with over powered salt. I would not recommend this place.
