The Nag's Head is a popular choice among Reading FC supporters and visiting fans alike. It is known for its wide selection of real ales (12 handpumps), craft keg beers, and ciders, creating a vibrant atmosphere on matchdays. The pub is located near the town centre, making it easily accessible for fans traveling to the Madejski Stadium. Additionally, it has been noted that the pub gets very busy on Reading FC match days, indicating its popularity among football fans. Furthermore, the pub occasionally opens earlier when local football matches are on or when running Reading FC home game bus services for home and away fans, demonstrating its commitment to serving the football community. These factors make The Nag's Head a suitable venue for both home and away supporters looking to enjoy a pre-match pint or post-match gathering.
This has to be the best craft beer pub in Reading. Constantly rotating taps and pumps. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. The pub itself is a little small when reading are playing at home and local fans come in pre match. It does have seating outside though under marques which is good although can get cold in winter. Long may this pubs continue selling great beer.
Have been visited many pubs in Reading and found this one of the best pubs in Reading. Great service, good and friendly staff, Cosy atmosphere and has an amazing beer garden. Love the variety of beer they are serving. Plenty of cask pumps and many more of keg taps and all beers were in excellent condition. The prices were amazingly down mean pocket friendly and surprised me compared to places around. Defo coming back again and surely recommend to all beer lovers.
This is a great pub with a superb selection of beverages. The staff were great and the clientele was a mixed bag of people of all age ranges and very friendly and the prices were very good ad well. I will definitely visit this pub again. To think I am Reading born and bred and despite being aware of this venue this was my first visit in probably 35 years, I really didn't realise what I was missing.
A pub that delivers on both food and drink; hearty fare and a wide array of ciders and ales. The sausage roll and the beef brisket bun are really tasty. Evenings on the patio are comfortable and full of atmosphere.
This place hits the sweet spot of combining a traditional pub and craft beer destination. Excellent tap lineup. Board games. Darts. Sports on the tele. Nice bar staff. Great beer garden. Highly recommended for both the craft on offer and the vibe in general. My favorite pub in Reading.
