Very quiet having lost all it's customers after Covid 2021 closure. A Greene King Pub that DOES NOT DO Greene King beers. How odd to operate a franchise like that. Friendly staff and atmosphere. Nonetheless.
i always come up here before watching Reading city football club as i live in Basingstoke . its close to the train station and bus stop to football. but this is such a incredible pub. fantastic bar people. sky sports on the tv. nice beer
Everything online says kitchen closes at 8:30pm. Booked a table through the website for 8pm, which was the last selectable timeslot, and selected Main Menu, so all seemed set for food. Arrived and found out the kitchen had closed at 7:30pm. Would have been nice to know before we travelled there. Such a shame because the menu is extensive and looks lovely
I had an amazing meal at this lovely pub! The burger was absolutely delicious — juicy, packed with flavor, and loaded with gooey nacho-melted cheese 🤤 The crispy onion rings on top were a perfect touch! The pub itself was nice, with a cozy atmosphere, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive 😊 A perfect spot for a great meal, drinks, and warm hospitality!
I had a great experience at Argyle & Thistle. The manager is very friendly and professional, and the service is excellent from start to finish. The menu is awesome with a great variety of delicious food, and everything we tried was well prepared and full of flavour. What really stood out is their festive spirit — they’re hosting Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve parties, which makes it a perfect place to celebrate the holidays with friends and family. Highly recommended for great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere!
