Subject: Thank You, O’Neill Team! Dear O’Neill Team, Thank you so much for the wonderful birthday wishes and the beautiful table presentation — you truly made my day! A big thanks to the entire O’Neill crew for your kindness and exceptional service. You’re all such good people who really know how to make your customers feel special. Top-notch service, as always! Denis The Belgian guy AMAZING STAFF Since I moved to my new place in Friar street , I’ve made it a habit to come here to O'Neil’s on a daily basis for lunch—especially for the fish and chips. I find the place very nice and the staff extremely friendly, especially Derek and Dior, who always make sure not to forget my mayonnaise (being from Belgium, it’s a must-have with my dish!). The arrival of a new Irish pub nearby hasn’t changed my routine, as I truly enjoy this place—not just for the atmosphere, but also for the consistently warm and attentive service. Hats off to Dior, Derek, and the rest of the crew—you’re doing a fantastic job and always greet with a smile. Keep it up guys! Denis the Belgian guy

Manager (Irine) more interested in persuading customers to leave positive reviews than sorting her sinking ship. Oneills has taken a real downhill turn since the refurb. No tvs to watch the rugby sat at our booth, staff standing around chatting while we stood waiting to be served, glanced over at us several times but just got ignored. And as for the beer, overpriced for what is effectively a quarter pint of head. What used to be a great place for the rugby is unfortunately no longer. The Irish bar down the road is far better!

I screwed up, I ordered drinks at the table via their website/QR code when it was busy. They really don’t have enough staff on busy days like at the Champions League final. Lively atmosphere but getting something to drink is hard work. What makes it worse is the app offers the chance to tip and I did which was undeserved based on the service. Put simply, don’t come here on a busy day if you are thirsty, they don’t have enough staff Update: Did manage to get a refund after half an hour, although the tip wasn’t refunded. Was also advised that I’d get kicked out if I went to the bar to ask where my drinks were again, rather than be apologetic about being understaffed and not serving ordered drinks within 30 minutes. It’s really not difficult, if you don’t have the staff to cover order at table, then disable the ability to do it and make people queue at the bar. They did have a couple of staff wandering around trying to sell shots, that would have been better served trying to keep the waiting time for order at table down. Might be ok on an ordinary day but avoid when busy

Love it in here. We’ve come for two nights stay in Reading from Abingdon in Oxfordshire. Service is 10/10. Food good value for money. Good choice of drinks. Great atmosphere. Here to watch the Rugby. Fantastic choice of venue. Well done staff. Always checking if we’d like another drink. 👍🏻
