Was a young mixed race lady with curly hair working when I came into chequers to eat who had a lot of attitude towards me and a few other customers I noticed, was a lot of eye rolling and attitude in her tone of voice which ruined it as the food was great. I believe staff should have customer service skills and to serve with a smile. Disappointing
First time here by drive pass. Very nice atmosphere inside. It’s quite surprise by food promotion each day. Very reasonable price and great taste. You will have a variety selection of food. We are planning to come here next time.

Friendly little pub, big beer garden. Was perfect to spend a few hours, watching the football before an airport pickup. Amazing curry mutton. I can't wait to go back and try more food. Great atmosphere and the music really gives it extra character.
One of the best food 🍲 in town . Extremely delicious 😋 and mouth watering menus . Highly recommend. Update : 23/5/2026 Stopped by The Chequers in Luton and really enjoyed the food overall. The jerk chicken was full of flavour with a nice smoky taste, and the BBQ sauce worked surprisingly well with it. The rice and peas were cooked properly and paired nicely with the meal, while the creamy coleslaw added a fresh balance. Portion size was generous and definitely worth the money. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the quantity was a bit low, although the food was delicious. I wish they could give a little more quantity. It was very busy, so maybe that’s the reason, and the food came after about 15–20 minutes. The chicken could have been a little juicier in some parts, but overall a tasty and satisfying meal.
