Escape Bar Stratford is in the heart of Stratford (25 West Ham Lane, E15 4PH), making it a handy pre- or post-match stop when heading to West Ham’s London Stadium via Stratford’s transport links. It’s open late on Fridays and Saturdays (until 02:00), which suits evening fixtures and post-match meet-ups. The venue also has sports TV, so you can catch other games before or after your match. Beer choice skews interesting and craft-leaning (recent check-ins include brands like Queer Brewing, Hacker-Pschorr, Lindemans and Vault City Brewing), which appeals to groups making a day of it around kick-off.
This pub offers a fantastic blend of traditional charm and modern comfort. The beer and cider selection is impressive including a rotating choice of craft options and local favorites. The bartenders are friendly, approachable and always happy to suggest drinks based on your taste. The food is hearty and delicious with pub classics and some unique specials. The interior is warm and inviting, featuring rustic décor, wooden beams and cozy seating areas. On weekends the pub fills with energy from live music or social events while weekdays are quieter and relaxed. Service is efficient and professional and the staff make every guest feel valued. It’s a pub that delivers a consistently enjoyable experience.
VISIT DATE: THU 15/05/2025 VISIT TIME: 20:00 - 23:00 Currently operating under the name “Escape”, this is a really friendly pub with a very well stocked selection of games, including video games. I attended with a small group of people for a friend’s birthday. As there is no kitchen, people are welcome to bring in their own food, as long as they get drinks from the bar and clean up after themselves. Drinks are reasonably priced and there is a good selection. Staff are friendly and welcoming and there are a good number of tables inside and there is also an outside area. Step-free access, but, unfortunately, due to the age of the building and the number of people using them, the toilets are small and pretty grimy. I didn’t see any accessible toilet.
Vey fun place to come with friends for a game night. There are plenty of board games as well as retro play stations, Xbox... The beers are quite reasonably priced. The do not serve any food but they allow bringing foods from outside. We visited on a Saturday evening and it was plenty of space, although it became busier from around 9pm. The place is quite big.
I love this pub. Lots of games to choose from, staff are friendly, and the music is played at a level you can still hear your friends. The music is kind of alternative but not heavy. The drinks prices are about average for the area.
Had a lovely time here, staff very friendly and there seems to be a nice crowd of regulars. Didn't have time to play any games, but their library of options looks great
