Visited on Thursday afternoon. Very impressive public house, lots of different rooms and places to sit together, both inside and out. Large range of cask ales. A small group we ordered the apparently famous pies and ordered beef type with peas and gravy which came in a package including a select pint of cask ale for around £13. Unfortunately the pie was not fresh, it gave the impression it had been held in a hot oven for a couple of days. The semi mushy peas appeared to be from a tin and the gravy was very rich and only a small amount. Look I loved the pub. All the staff we met were wonderful. The pies were not up to scratch though.

Absolutely love this place, great choice of beer/vodka for us both and great service from a very knowledgable Vinny (who suggested a lemon Fruh beer for my partner) at the bar. We had a pieminister pie each (with mash and gravy) and they were delivered to us by a cheerful young man called Kieran. Knowledgeable and friendly staff with fantastic management. Well done everyone x

Along time since I visited here. But will definitely be back. Beer in excellent condition. Kirkstall brewery mild at 6.5 in great condition. Also Brew York superb. Great interior decor. Superb choice of beers including 3 milds. Food available and pleasant, not to loud background music. Part of Huddersfield railway station.

Great pub handy for the rail station ( one of a pair at each end of the station building). Good choice of beers and truly exceptional staff.
