A visit to the haunted hotel which is the White Heart for some munch. Impressed, really good food all round, no long waits, and a very nice place to sit and eat. Maybe could have done with a few more chips with the fish but very well cooked and hit the spot. Not sure why sauces are served in little ramekins either would just prefer the bottle at the table! A solid 8/10. Also if you are thinking of going go on to their website for a discount code they are offering 40% off all mains until the 10th May 2026, all day every day (not bank hols weekend)
Stayed here for 1 night and decided to try the food. And that was good decision 👌🏻 I ordered beef pie that came with mashed potatoes, carrots, kale, mangetout and extra sauce. Very good 👍🏻 Friends had lasagne with garlic bread and vegetable Thai curry. Everyone was very happy with their meals. Obu was busy on Friday night. Lovely stay, lovely food, good service 👌🏻 Easy to get here from motorway and they have carpark.
Great atmosphere! The place is stunning, very well looked after! The food was also really good. Nigel who served us was great from the start, friendly and helpful ☺️
This is a Marstons hotel with a historic front and a modern section at the back with newer guest rooms and a large business center with conference rooms. We stayed in the newer rooms. The room was nice with a good size bathroom. There is an elevator for upper floors. It is well situated between the old historic wharf area (lots of restaurants) and the old town (about a 10 minute walk either way). We had the breakfast included with our booking and the food was good. Staff were very attentive although we waited for service for about 10 minutes when we sat down for breakfast on one day. There's a Wetherspoons across the street that serves a low cost breakfast as an option to the hotel breakfast. If you book directly with Marstons there's a 20% discount on food and parking is free (otherwise it's 10 pounds). We enjoyed out stay there and Exeter is a good place to visit.
I stayed at the White Hart while on business in the area. We ate in the bar are. I had a lovely bacon chop and a couple lovely pints. The room was really clean, spacious and has a great size tv. It was really reasonably priced. Too reasonable for the quality I thought. No complaints there.
