Historic looking pub in Exwick not far from the Exe. Friendly and helpful staff with many gluten free and vegan options plus real ale. Pleasant atmosphere and they turned the music down a bit for us. The Aubergine & chickpea stew with flatbread was good and the ribs looked massive. Moderate but reasonable prices though with a 10% optional service charge added to the bill. Plenty of street parking close by.
Really delicious food, super friendly staff and a chilled atmosphere. Perfect for a Sunday afternoon, Carly was amazing, thank you so much for looking after us today ☺️
Another exceptional carvery lunch this Sunday. Of all the places we go to eat The Thatched House is consistently peerless. Excellent food with plenty of variation, well kept range of beers and superb, welcoming service from Carly and the front of house staff, including Grace recently. The owners have worked hard to create a great pub community with regular imaginative events. Even the dog gets looked after! Outstanding job by Nataliya and Paul (and the team).
Being in this area of Exeter for a few days, I decided to have dinner in this pub one evening. It was such a fortunate decision. I came back to the same place until the end of my visit. The food is simply exquisite, with a wide availability of different specialties. I enjoyed a chicken-based dish and a savoury sea bass fillet; my best meal there was a vegan Wellington with walnut sauce on a bed of baked potatoes, an absolute must-have. I also had a Christmas yule log that was excellent too. In addition to food, the staff was extremely kind and friendly: I loved talking to them. The atmosphere in the pub was so cheerful, with live music and/or quizzes, lots of nice people, and Christmas decorations.
