My fiance and I spent a long weekend in Exeter for the Uni open day and for my partner to see what Exeter is like as we're thinking of moving here. Having spent 5 hours driving and it being 6 pm, we were hungry and headed out into Exeter fancying a cosy pub and pub meal. We found 'The Fat Pig' on our stroll and instantly loved the vibes, went to order food but didn't know you had to have a reservation. The owner and his team were so friendly and understanding, they made room for us having learned we were driving for ages and super hungry, which is very compassionate. This place and the staff are exceptional, the decor is gorgeous-- blending oldy worldy pub vibes with a sprinkling of contemporary. Everyone was friendly, the place was buzzing with joyful energy and the FOOD! The FOOD was amazing! The chef is a magician! We ordered chicken burgers and chips, the meals were hearty and full of flavour, we devoured our meals like happy piggies 🤣 This has been one of the best places we've eaten at in a long time. We will be going back.

Absolutely loved our experience here! The Sunday Roast Beef and the Crispy Belly Pork were truly outstanding — full of flavor, tender, and perfectly cooked. Every bite was a delight! Just a little note: the Sunday roast is available only on Saturdays and Sundays, so make sure to plan your visit accordingly. The cozy little restaurant has such a warm and welcoming vibe, made even better by the lovely and friendly staff who made us feel right at home. No wonder the place fills up so quickly! Highly recommend booking in advance to secure your spot. Definitely a place we'd love to return to again and again.

Had an amazing roast here, with excellent service. Someone in our group had an allergy that both the kitchen and front of house team were amazing about, and went above and beyond to make sure they felt at home and comfortable. Would highly recommend !!
