Additionally, its location near Marsh Barton train station and the Exe Estuary Trail makes it easily accessible for matchday visitors.
The food was delicious. We had cyder battered haddock which had the crispiest batter we have ever had. The chips were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The portions were large, so we didn't have room for dessert. The staff were friendly and attentive. Lovely setting right by the canal. Definitely recommend.
Trip down memory lane. A unique setting for an awesome experience. It hasn't changed since I used to visit three decades ago. Slightly quirky but superb. A "must visit" place.
Had a nice oat milk Latte at Double Locks. Great views. Nice and friendly service. Quite a bit of litter around the pub and in the garden though. Big car park. Think they're having a big burn for November 5th judging by the pallet mountain in the garden!
The location and setting is amazing, especially outdoors in the summer. There is a good selection of beers, ales, and cider. I’m not a fan of the plastic serving cups though I understand why they have to do it on very busy days. They also ran out of tea and I had bring tea pots back to be able to order one. Again, not the end of the world but the service experience wasn’t brilliant overall. Only tried the scotch egg but it was lovely!
Yes you get a lovely view here, it’s great that it’s dog friendly, however the child’s portion of mac & cheese is not substantial enough for a child. There’s barely anything in it! No garlic bread for the price of £8.50. Absolute rip off. Not very cheesy either, flavour isn’t the best. The service isn’t great because you can’t scan the QR code to order from your phone as the app says it doesn’t take orders, so you have to join a hugeee queue that takes approx 20 mins on a good day. Wouldn’t recommend for food, don’t let your children go hungry xxxx
