Visited from out the area whilst on a work trip 8/9/25 Googled for a traditional pub in burton and this place came up. Warm and welcoming atmosphere made everyone feel right at home. The lady who served us was incredibly attentive, ensuring that we received wonderful service. The pub's charm, coupled with its friendly staff, created an inviting environment. Lady working had time for everyone. Felt really comfortable here especially when visiting an area I don’t know. Took lots of care in preparing my drink which you don’t get in a lot of places. Asked for my glass preference, ice, straw etc.

A nice old fashioned pub on the corner, close to the train station. A good selection of real ales and the usual tap beers. Staff were friendly and polite. Beer was good. Great old place. Enjoyed my visit.

Went on a little beering to Burton to meet some friends, this was the first pub off the train. Dog friendly, and busy vibe at 5pm so we sat outside in the beer garden out back. Just had the one (very reasonably priced) pint and moved on to some other pubs, but found we were getting peckish. The last two pubs were out of sandwiches so my friend rang the Roebuck to see if they had any sandwiches in stock. The lady answered and said she'd find out and call us back. Which she did, a few minutes later so we headed back to the pub for sandwiches. Very basic mind - cheese, ham, etc but they were massive! And only three quid and did the job. Then the bar staff told us that it was the landlady that my friend had called, she was on holiday and instead of ignoring my friend she rang the pub and rang my friend back. So we decided to stay there for the rest of our time in Burton. Thanks for the great service!

Great pub, close to both The Coopers Arms and The Devonshire Arms. Serves a good selection of cask ales.
